Collaborating closely with internal and external resources, the Sr. Category Manager is responsible for developing critical insights, solutions, and strategic and tactical category action plans supporting Dollar General. The Sr. Category Manager is the primary representative to Dollar General for all category management activities. This position addresses complex business opportunities by triangulating data from multiple sources, tools and analytics, shopper insights and solutions into persuasive communications and succinct storytelling resulting in retailer activations

- Prepare and present fact-based insights to internal and external partners to support selling initiatives and secure alignment of strategic and tactical plans at multiple levels of the organization.
- Triangulate macro trends, shopper insights, and category fundamentals into succinct storytelling resulting in retailer activations.
- Develop category strategies informed by customer research, financial performance, market trends, and data insights to cultivate and manage relationships with retailers.
- Collaborate with Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, Pricing, Customer Service, and other cross-functional partners to develop well-rounded plans and bring category priorities to life.
- Work directly with Dollar General Buyer to create a planogram that supports the needs of Dollar General and captures Ferrara category KPI’s
- Monitor category performance and financial metrics, adjusting plans as business conditions, customer needs, and market opportunities evolve.
- High competency in JDA software to build/modify planograms and utilize the tables within to dissect the results
- Up to 10% travel required

Experiences that will support your success
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum 4-7 years of experience in consumer goods, preferably in food or other high velocity impulse categories (FMCG)
- Must have experience working with Dollar General
- Exceptional project management abilities, capable of prioritizing and handling multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- High proficiency in syndicated data sources (Circana, Nielsen, DG 1010 data.), Excel & PowerPoint
- Knowledge/experience with POG tools and retailer loyalty platforms such as Blue Yonder/JDA

Compensation
The salary range for this position is $123,668 to $173,135 annually.
