Job Description

Job Summary

The Sr. Consultant leads the development of analytical insights on client, market, and business performance and delivers strategic findings and recommendations to external and internal stakeholders. This role independently frames ambiguous business problems, defines analytical objectives, and sources and integrates complex datasets to produce high-quality analyses, compelling presentations, and data visualizations. The Sr. Consultant translates data into business value by identifying opportunities, quantifying impact, and influencing stakeholder decisions. The role combines advanced analytics, client consulting, executive communication, and domain expertise across payments and related business challenges. The Sr. Consultant drives analytical workstreams from problem definition through recommendation and helps shape best practices, analytical standards, and innovation across the organization.

The role requires digital fluency and a demonstrated ability to leverage emerging technologies, including Generative AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, and similar technologies, to improve analytical efficiency, accelerate insight generation, enhance data storytelling, and support innovative client solutions.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead the creation and delivery of analytical insights and strategic recommendations to external clients and senior internal stakeholders, tailoring storylines and materials to audiences with varying levels of analytical and technical fluency.

· Independently frame ambiguous business questions, define analytical objectives, and translate them into clear hypotheses, data requirements, workplans, timelines, and measurable outcomes.

· Define analytical approaches and quality standards for complex problems; make informed trade-off decisions on methodology, prioritization, and scope; secure stakeholder alignment and drive decisions to closure.

· Source, combine, and analyze large, complex, and disparate datasets; ensure analytical rigor, quality control, documentation, and reproducibility of outputs.

· Identify opportunities to improve client performance, profitability, payment acceptance, authorization outcomes, risk management, fraud outcomes, customer experience, and operational effectiveness through data-driven analysis.

· Benchmark client and market results against relevant peer groups, industry trends, and best practices; quantify potential impact, risks, and trade-offs.

· Develop executive-ready presentations, data visualizations, and written narratives that translate complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations.

· Lead client and stakeholder discussions, manage expectations and objections, and align partners on priorities, implications, decisions, and next steps.

· Use Generative AI and other emerging technologies responsibly to improve analytical workflows, accelerate research and insight generation, strengthen data storytelling, and increase delivery efficiency.

· Review and elevate analytical deliverables for clarity, accuracy, business relevance, and executive readiness.

· Provide guidance, coaching, and quality review to analysts and consultants across project workstreams; delegate effectively and support high-quality execution.

· Improve team practices, processes, templates, quality checks, reusable code, and analytical standards to increase consistency, efficiency, and client impact.

Skills and Competencies

· Advanced analytical judgment: independently frame ambiguous problems, select appropriate methods, and translate findings into actionable business insights.

· Client consulting and stakeholder management: lead internal and external discussions, manage expectations, and build alignment on scope, priorities, recommendations, and implications.

· Executive communication and data storytelling: create clear, persuasive narratives and recommendations for senior and executive audiences.

· Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience analyzing large, complex datasets using modern analytics and big data platforms such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Databricks, cloud-based analytics environments, or comparable technologies.

· Data visualization expertise using Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, or comparable business intelligence tools; apply sound visualization practices to produce accurate and audience-appropriate outputs.

· Working knowledge of statistical methods, analytical modeling, data quality controls, and documentation practices.

· Demonstrated digital fluency and ability to use Generative AI tools responsibly and effectively within analytical and consulting workflows.

· Coaching and review capability: provide actionable feedback, raise quality standards, and support the development of lower-level professionals.

· Process and standards mindset: improve ways of working through reusable methods, templates, automation, documentation, and quality assurance.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

· 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD


Preferred Qualifications

· 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD

· Experience in payments, acceptance, authorization, risk, fraud, client performance, or related financial services domains.

· Proven ability to quantify business impact, articulate risk-benefit trade-offs, and influence stakeholder decisions.

· Advanced experience with data visualization, analytical platforms, large-scale data environments, and automation of repeatable analytical workflows.

· Experience coaching or reviewing the work of analysts and consultants in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.

· Spanish language would be considered a valuable additional qualification.



Information for US Applicants

For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $130,900.00 to $ 210,000.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
