Position Summary
The Senior Director, Commodity Risk Management, North America, will lead the development and growth of Corpay Cross-Border’s commodity hedging business across the region. This is a strategic, relationship-driven and market-facing leadership role responsible for building a differentiated, scalable commodity risk management capability that supports sophisticated corporate, institutional and private capital markets clients.
The role will combine direct client engagement and revenue generation with the broader work required to establish and scale the business. The role will act as a senior subject matter expert, help clients understand and manage commodity price risk, develop tailored hedging strategies, structure and execute commodity hedging trades, upskill Sales and Dealing teams, and translate a clear North American commodity hedging strategy into commercial priorities, qualified pipeline development, client engagement and measurable execution.
Working closely with Sales, Dealing, Trading, Credit, Liquidity, Risk, Compliance, Operations and Product, the Director will help shape the commercial proposition, operating model and risk frameworks required to grow the business responsibly. Success will be reflected not only through individual revenue contribution, but also through pipeline development, team capability, client outcomes, disciplined governance and the sustainable expansion of Corpay’s commodity hedging offering.
How We Work
This is a remote position based in North America. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a strong presence with clients and internal teams, travel as required, and collaborate effectively across regions and functions. Corpay will support the role with:

Role Responsibilities
Business Growth & Client Hedging Solutions
- Own and execute Corpay’s North American commodity hedging strategy, including target segments, market opportunities, commercial goals and pipeline priorities.
- Partner with Sales and Dealing teams to identify unmet client risk management needs and build a sustainable pipeline.
- Generate revenue through client origination, trade structuring, execution, cross-sell activity and expansion of existing relationships.
- Serve as a senior subject matter expert in client meetings, providing market insight and tailored risk management recommendations.
- Develop hedging strategies aligned to each client’s exposure, objectives, cash flows, risk tolerance and governance processes.
- Translate complex commodity markets and derivative structures into clear, commercially relevant client recommendations.
- Own the full client lifecycle, from discovery and exposure analysis through solution design, trade structuring, approvals, execution and review.
- Build trusted client relationships through proactive engagement, high-quality insight, disciplined recommendations and consistent delivery.
- Provide leadership with clear updates on pipeline, revenue performance, product adoption, market opportunity and key risks.
Product Enablement & Team Capability
- Upskill Sales, Dealing and client-facing teams to identify opportunities and progress qualified commodity hedging conversations.
- Develop practical training, sales narratives, discovery questions, client materials, case studies and market updates.
- Coach colleagues on commodity exposures, hedging products, structuring considerations, credit implications and client communication.
- Embed commodity hedging capability through repeatable workflows, clear ownership and strong commercial-control collaboration.
- Share best practices with global colleagues to support consistent standards and leverage expertise across regions.
Market Insights & Thought Leadership
- Monitor commodity markets, macro trends, supply-demand dynamics, volatility and liquidity that may affect client exposures.
- Produce timely commentary, analysis and trade themes focused on actionable risk management implications.
- Identify emerging market opportunities and convert them into targeted client engagement and commercial campaigns.
- Represent Corpay’s expertise in events, webinars and forums that build internal adoption and external market credibility.
Risk Frameworks & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Partner across Credit, Trading and Operations to support responsible, scalable growth.
- Work with Legal, Compliance, Regulatory, Operations, Finance and Product to align solutions with applicable controls and requirements.
- Contribute commodity expertise to counterparty selection, pricing, liquidity, exposure management, collateral and governance.
- Provide client and market feedback to inform product development, systems enhancements, reporting and future solution design.
- Maintain accurate records of client activity, opportunities and commercial progress in company systems and CRM platforms.
Governance & Conduct
- Adhere to all compliance obligations, risk management requirements, AML standards and company policies.
- Operate with integrity, accountability and sound judgment when balancing client needs, commercial opportunity and risk.
- Provide ad hoc support to the broader team as business priorities require.
Qualifications & Skills
- Extensive experience in commodity markets, derivatives, commodity risk management, trade structuring, execution, sales trading or a related capital markets environment.
- Deep knowledge of commodity price risk and hedging solutions, including swaps, options and structured products, with the ability to structure and execute trades across relevant energy, metals and agricultural markets.
- Demonstrated success working with corporate or institutional clients on complex commodity exposures and developing tailored hedging strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics or a related discipline.
- Strong commercial acumen and a proven ability to originate opportunities, support complex sales cycles, deepen client relationships and contribute to sustainable revenue growth.
- Experience building or scaling a product capability, business line or specialist commercial offering is strongly preferred.
- Sound understanding of market risk, credit, liquidity, collateral, pricing and operational considerations associated with commodity hedging.
- Exceptional client-facing, presentation and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex market concepts clearly and credibly.
- Ability to influence, coach and build capability across cross-functional teams without relying solely on formal authority.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience using market data, scenario analysis and financial models to support client recommendations and business decisions.
- Comfort operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with evolving priorities and a high degree of ownership.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM, market data platforms, and financial analytics tools.
- Willingness to travel as needed for client engagement, internal collaboration and industry events.
