Overview
As the Senior Engineer – Maintenance Planning & Scheduling, you will improve maintenance effectiveness by ensuring work is planned, scheduled and executed efficiently. You will coordinate labor, parts, tools and timelines for safety, food safety, corrective and preventive maintenance activities. Working with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Purchasing and Storeroom teams, you will use Maximo, maintenance data and reliability principles to improve equipment availability and maintenance productivity. The shit timing for the role is 3:30 pm to 12:30 am.
Key Accountabilities
- Review work requests to ensure all required information is complete and accurate before planning.
- Plan labor, parts, tools and timelines for safety, food safety, corrective and preventive maintenance work orders.
- Coordinate with Line Teams, Maintenance and Engineering to prioritize and schedule work using Maximo and other planning tools.
- Maintain asset hierarchies, job plans and preventive maintenance routines in the system.
- Support job plan standardization and provide basic guidance and training on Maximo usage.
- Initiate the Item Request Management process and partner with Purchasing and the Storeroom to maintain accurate spare-part information.
- Review completed work orders and compare planned versus actual labor and material usage to improve future planning accuracy.
- Analyze maintenance and reliability data to identify gaps in preventive maintenance strategies and recommend improvements.
- Support the site Maintenance Planning and Scheduling tool by providing guidance and training.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Full-time Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
- Preferred disciplines include Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Production, Electronics, Instrumentation or Telecommunications Engineering.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in plant operations, maintenance or a related engineering field.
- Experience in maintenance planning and scheduling.
- Experience working with maintenance work orders, preventive maintenance and equipment reliability.
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of maintenance planning concepts and computerized maintenance management systems, preferably Maximo.
- Understanding of preventive maintenance and equipment reliability principles.
- Ability to analyze maintenance data and identify opportunities to improve planning and maintenance strategies.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Soft Skills
- Strong verbal, written and electronic communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, Purchasing and Storeroom teams.
- Strong prioritization, coordination and problem-solving skills.
- Personal accountability, adaptability and willingness to grow into broader planning or reliability-focused roles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certification in Reliability or Maintenance.
- Experience supporting maintenance planning and scheduling tools.
- Experience in a manufacturing plant or maintenance environment.
- Interest in developing a career in maintenance planning, reliability or engineering solutions.
