Our Mission – Why We Need You Founded in 1980, Continuous provides intelligent automation solutions with purpose-built integrations for financial institutions. We are banking experts who make the complex simple and own our customers’ outcomes. This reflects how we operate and the community we’re building together. Be the driving force behind innovation — join us on our mission to shape the future as our Sr. Software Engineering Lead for the Universal Integration Platform. As a technical leader, you’ll combine hands-on engineering expertise with architectural vision to scale the platform that powers automation for the world’s top financial institutions. Objectives – The Problems You’ll Solve Reporting to our Chief Technology Officer, the Sr. Software Engineering Lead will drive technical direction for our Universal Integration Platform, aligning engineering with business goals and enabling team success. You’ll set the technical direction for major initiatives, define coding standards and best practices, influence technology choices across teams, and personally tackle the most complex engineering challenges. This role requires expertise in designing and delivering sophisticated abstraction layers that bridge cloud and on-premises environments while maintaining high performance and reliability. You’ll also champion AI-assisted development practices — establishing team-wide standards that enhance productivity, consistency, and code quality. Tech Stack: C# (.NET Core/Framework), AWS (Lambda, ECS, S3, API Gateway, EventBridge), Microservices, Docker, AI-assisted development tools, with Node.js and React as valuable additions. How You’ll Get There In your first 6 weeks, you will: Assess the current Universal Integration Platform architecture, coding standards, and team practices. Understand the hybrid cloud/on-premises deployment model and existing integration patterns. Build strong relationships with product, business, and engineering stakeholders. Evaluate current AI-assisted development tool adoption and identify opportunities for improvement. Facilitate team discussions to align on coding standards, architectural principles, and technical priorities. Evaluate existing abstraction layers and identify opportunities for improvement. Tackle at least one high-priority technical challenge directly. In Your first 3 months, you will: Lead your immediate team of 3–5 engineers to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery while shaping engineering excellence. Define or refine coding standards, best practices, and technical guidelines for C# development. Establish team standards for AI-assisted development, including best practices for tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar. Set direction for one major initiative on the Universal Integration Platform, aligning engineering efforts with business goals. Design or improve abstraction layers that simplify integration complexity. Provide cross-team mentorship and guidance on architectural patterns and effective AI tool usage. Influence technology and tooling choices across teams, including AI development tools. Establish patterns for cloud-native and on-premises deployment strategies. In your first 6 months, you will: Establish the technical vision and long-term roadmap for the Universal Integration Platform. Drive organization-wide adoption of AI-assisted development practices and measure their impact on productivity. Ensure adoption of best practices and standards across multiple teams. Deliver complex abstraction frameworks that enable rapid integration development. Resolve or guide resolution of the most complex, high-impact technical challenges. Define and implement strategies for maintaining consistency across cloud and on-premises deployments. Mentor emerging technical leaders to extend architectural ownership across the organization. Be recognized as a trusted advisor by both engineering and business leadership. Competencies – What We’re Looking For Technical Skills: Expert-level C# mastery: Deep expertise in .NET Core and .NET Framework, including async/await patterns, dependency injection, middleware pipelines, and advanced language features — consistently delivering high-quality, reliable, and maintainable solutions. AI-assisted development leadership: Expert proficiency with AI development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor, or similar), with proven ability to establish standards, measure productivity gains, and mentor engineers on effective tool usage. Complex abstraction design: Demonstrated ability to design and implement abstraction frameworks that accelerate integration development and measurably reduce complexity and time-to-market. AWS cloud expertise: Extensive experience with AWS services (Lambda, ECS, S3, API Gateway, EventBridge, CloudFormation/CDK), designing distributed systems that scale efficiently and operate reliably across hybrid environments. Hybrid deployment experience: Deep understanding of systems that work seamlessly across cloud and on-premises environments, maintaining performance and reliability in both. Advanced system design: Expertise in distributed architecture, microservices, and event-driven design, ensuring scalability and system resilience. Integration architecture: Proven success in building platforms that enable multiple integration patterns (REST APIs, message queues, event-driven, and batch). DevOps and CI/CD mastery: Skilled in deployment pipelines, infrastructure as code, blue-green deployments, and automated testing strategies that enhance engineering velocity. Performance and scalability: Known for optimizing distributed systems at scale to improve stability and throughput. Testing at scale: Implements robust testing and quality assurance frameworks that improve product reliability and reduce regressions. Leadership & Strategic Thinking: Technical vision: Defines and executes a long-term technical roadmap that delivers measurable business outcomes and improves engineering efficiency. Abstraction thinking: Identifies reusable patterns and builds frameworks that enable faster integration development and consistent technical quality across teams. Strong communication: Translates complex technical ideas into actionable business value, driving alignment across product and engineering leadership. Architectural decision-making: Leads architecture reviews and technical discussions that ensure decisions balance speed, scalability, and sustainability. Cross-functional collaboration: Anticipates domain-specific challenges, influences product and platform strategies, and fosters deep alignment between business goals and technical execution. Financial services domain awareness: Understands dependencies, compliance constraints, and integration realities specific to banking and capital markets. Strategic balance: Maintains equilibrium between technical feasibility and business impact — driving forward innovation that matters. Team impact: Shapes a healthy, high-performance engineering culture; mentors peers; and enables other teams to deliver with excellence and confidence. Personal Attributes: Knowledge-sharing: Passionate about mentoring others and building collective technical strength. Customer-focused: Driven to improve the product and customer experience through innovative, reliable engineering. Collaborative: Motivated by teamwork, continuous improvement, and shared accountability. Intellectually curious: Constantly learning, experimenting, and refining your craft. Accountable: Owns outcomes, communicates proactively, and follows through on commitments. Pragmatic innovator: Balances elegant design with practical delivery, knowing when to perfect and when to ship. What's in it for you? At Continuous, you’ll be part of a team where engineering craftsmanship and curiosity are celebrated.
