What We Need

Symbotic is seeking a strategic, highly driven Senior Manager, Project Planning to lead our team. This leadership role is a critical driver in overseeing material availability for our ongoing project portfolios while transforming our strategic planning and reporting standards. The ideal candidate will excel at developing processes for program execution improvement, possess the exceptional ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders at every level of the organization, and proactively manage supply risks across multiple projects to minimize total impact to our programs.

What We Do

The Supply Chain team manages project-based planning and material execution for complex, customer-specific automation systems. This group oversees material coordination, supply execution, and logistics alignment to ensure materials and equipment are available when and where needed to support installation and commissioning. Production Control works closely with other Supply Chain teams, including Sourcing, Procurement, and Supplier partners, to align demand, supply, and execution across large-scale customer projects.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, guide, and develop a team of Project Planners, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and analytical rigor.

• Lead project escalations and serve as the ultimate point of escalation for complex project material shortages, coordinating global parties (Procurement, Engineering, Logistics) to deliver to site needs.

• Drive the evolution of project tracking tools and KPIs. Effectively summarize project performance, anticipated shortfalls, and mitigation strategies to VP and C-level stakeholders, tailoring communication to drive executive decision-making.

• Proactively identify, assess, and manage supply risks across multiple concurrent projects to minimize total impact to our deployment programs and protect key Symbotic timelines.

• Act as a strategic liaison, demonstrating the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders at every level of the organization (from site-level teams to Executive Leadership) to align on material strategies and resolve critical bottlenecks.

• Architect and implement scalable processes for program execution improvement, driving operational excellence, standardization, and efficiency across the supply chain planning organization.

What You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA is highly preferred.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in supply chain, project planning, or material management, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or people management role.

• Demonstrated success in leading process improvement initiatives and driving program execution efficiency.

• Proven ability to influence and negotiate with cross-functional stakeholders across all levels of a matrixed organization.

• Strong track record of managing complex supply risks across a portfolio of large-scale, capital-intensive projects.

• Advanced presentation and communication skills, with a demonstrated comfort providing strategic updates to Director/VP/Executive-level stakeholders.

• Deep understanding of material planning principles, inventory management, and end-to-end supply chain processes.

• Advanced Excel experience (Pivot tables/charts, advanced modeling, Macros/VBA) and data-driven analytical problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency in SAP and other advanced supply chain management/ERP tools.

• Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CPIM, CSCP) or project management (PMP) is a strong plus.

Our Environment

• Up to 30% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client locations and company HQ.
• Employees may be required to use a personal credit card for business travel expenses, which are reimbursed based on the program guidelines. Eligible employees may receive a corporate credit card based on role and travel requirements, but a personal credit card may be needed during onboarding until the corporate card is issued.

The base range for this position in the posted location is $135,000.00 - $185,900.00 however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, PTO and/or other benefits.
