Sr. Payroll and Benefits Specialist

LPT Realty is seeking an experienced Sr. Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This strategic and hands-on role will be responsible for managing payroll operations across all other entities under the LPT Realty umbrella. The ideal candidate will bring both operational excellence and strategic thinking, with a strong background in payroll and benefits administration for mid-sized companies and an expertise in both domestic and international payroll processing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all other entities under the LPT Realty umbrella, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery
• Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and vendor coordination
• Facilitate the ongoing optimization of HRIS for the payroll and benefits platforms
• Process international payroll in accordance with country-specific regulations and requirements
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and international payroll tax regulations
• Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and related matters with excellent service
• Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation
• Coordinate with external vendors, auditors, and regulatory agencies as needed
• Generate payroll reports and analytics for management review
• Partner with HR, Finance, and leadership to support strategic workforce planning and budgeting
• Plan and administer Benefit Optimizations
• Stay ahead of regulatory changes and proactively update policies and procedures to ensure compliance
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to benefits programs and vendor relationships
• Serve as subject matter expert for payroll and benefits, providing guidance on complex issues and compliance matters
• Manage the company’s processes for all leave types including federal, state, local leaves and ensure compliance with any applicable laws and regulations
• Assist in developing training for employees and management related to leave and benefits
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of payroll and benefits administration experience, with demonstrated progression in responsibility
• Proven experience managing payroll for a mid-sized company
• Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and compliance requirements
• Experience leading or participating in HRIS implementations or process improvement initiatives
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data management
• Strong analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable insights
• Proven problem-solving abilities and sound judgment in handling complex situations
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment
• Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to explain complex concepts clearly
• Professional Certifications (FPC, CPS)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel skills
Highly Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with BambooHR or similar HRIS platforms
• International payroll processing experience across multiple countries
• Experience leading HRIS system implementations from planning through execution
• Professional certification (CPP, FPC, CEBS, PHR or similar)
