This role serves as a trusted resource for employees, leaders, and business partners by providing payroll expertise, resolving complex issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach to deliver exceptional payroll operations and customer service. Key Responsibilities - Processes multi-state payrolls timely and accurately by coordinating with HR to ensure accurate processing and maintenance of data while maintaining a high level of confidentiality Processes and maintains payroll records including but not limited to new hire information, payroll changes, fringe benefit disbursements in accordance with company policy, regulatory requirements, and governmental requirements Provides high level of customer service to all levels of the organization by troubleshooting and escalating payroll and timekeeping issues Enrolls all newly hired hourly employees in the timekeeping system and trains timecard approvers in reviewing and approving timecards within payroll deadlines Prepares, reviews and analyzes reports to maintain documentation of payroll activities and conducts appropriate audits to ensure data integrity Oversees system entries and general ledger activity related to payroll functions Identifies and implements system and process improvements and documents workflow and work procedures Advises Finance leadership on complex payroll issues Provides guidance to employees regarding state and federal tax issues and calculations May mentor and train other team members Other duties as assigned Requirements: Education - Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline Experience 6+ years of experience in payroll and timekeeping or accounting and finance Required Skills - Excellent verbal and written communication Microsoft Office Suite, Intermediate Excel ADP Payroll software Accounting principles Problem solving and lean methodologies Tax principles Confidentiality Physical Requirement Move or lift objects up to 25 pounds. frequent (>75%) stationary position (standing or sitting) while utilizing digital. displays Frequent (>75%) fine manipulation using hands and fingers (typing, opening, writing, clicking, paper sorting, etc.) Working Environment Onsite: Office environment with assigned workstation Remote positions only: Home office environment with minimum distractions More about Evergen: Evergen provides customers across a diverse set of market segments with leading-edge expertise, scale, and flexibility across end-to-end services including design, development, regulatory support, verification and validation, manufacturing, and supply chain management.
