We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Washington D.C. for a Sr. Policy Analyst (Hybrid) on our Digital Health & AI team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Washington, DC office, requiring 3 days a week in the office. 25 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20001-7400 USA.

Provide expertise and support on policy work related to Digital Health and AI. This role is responsible for supporting the research and development of policies that advance the understanding of Digital Health and AI among physicians. This role collaborates with internal business units and external partners on Digital Health and AI policy initiatives.

This role requires working knowledge and experience in their job discipline with broadened capabilities. Performs a range of assignments related to the job discipline and uses prescribed guidelines or policies in analyzing situations. This role receives a moderate level of guidance and direction and continues to build knowledge of the AMA Mission and processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

AMA Policy Development and Research: 60%

• Support the development of AMA policy positions on digital health and AI, including research and analysis to inform new policy recommendations and strategies.
• Draft and contribute to policy reports, reviews, summaries, comment letters, and presentation materials.
• Prepare correspondence and briefing materials for Senior Management and AMA offices on key digital health and AI issues.
• Monitor state and federal legislative and regulatory developments in digital health and AI and prepare summaries and analysis of their implications for physicians.
• Contribute to the development of educational and communications resources and events.

Internal and External Relationships: 40%

• Collaborate with internal business units to help maintain effective relationships with relevant entities, including Sections and Federation societies, in support of shared digital health and AI priorities.
• Coordinate with internal business units such as Advocacy and Enterprise Communications to help ensure consistent messaging to stakeholders.
• Support the planning and logistics of convenings, briefings, conferences, and presentations related to digital health policy.
• Help build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders including medical specialty societies, industry groups, and coalitions.
• Assist in the day-to-day management of AMA coalitions, including coordination and correspondence.

May include other responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Bachelor's degree required, master's degree strongly preferred
2. 5+ years of experience in healthcare policy analysis in an academic, government, corporate, or non-profit setting required.
3. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders and help synthesize multiple viewpoints into recommendations.
4. Experience in people management preferred.
5. Familiarity with digital health and AI trends in the healthcare industry strongly preferred.
6. Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex issues into clear, well-organized written materials for varying audiences.
7. Solid organizational and communication skills, with experience supporting multi-stakeholder projects or coordination.
8. Strong critical thinking skills to support policy analysis and recommendations.
9. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people across disciplines, backgrounds, and levels of expertise.
10. Comfortable representing the AMA in a professional capacity as needed.
11. Politically savvy.
12. Some travel may be required

This role is an exempt position, and the salary range for this position is $91,555 - $121,311. This is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to business consideration and geographical location, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
