Show job description
We’re SmartThings, one of the leading IoT ecosystems in the world, creating the most effortless way for anyone to create a smart home. We're a wholly owned subsidiary of Samsung with corporate offices in Minneapolis and the Bay Area.

More than 430 million people worldwide use SmartThings to control and manage their connected life. SmartThings delivers simple, powerful experiences across Samsung’s leading portfolio of phones, TVs, and appliances. We also offer the most versatile smart home experience as an open platform with a rich partner ecosystem (think IKEA, SONOS, Honeywell, and so many more). As a founding member of Matter, we are a leader in the industry to help make smart homes more secure, reliable and seamless to use. Come be a part of the leading edge of IoT innovation!

In this role, you will be responsible for the strategy, creation, and distribution of promotional campaigns for Energy & Builder services, including GTM for our SmartThings Pro product (ST Pro). ST Pro delivers an AI-powered, integrated management solution and a robust device ecosystem, transforming spaces - from multifamily housing and hospitality to office, retail, and commercial buildings - into more efficient and scalable environments. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, collaborating with the B2B Solutions team to lead strategies that position, launch, and differentiate our services.

Key Responsibilities

This is a hybrid role, based onsite 3 days a week at our office in Minneapolis, MN. This is a 6-month contract position, paying $70/hour with an expected work week of 40 hours.

In this role, your primary responsibilities will include the following:
  • Strategic Market Intelligence: Serve as the organization-wide expert on key audiences and the competitive landscape for energy management/utility services and B2B solutions. Resolve complex positioning challenges by evaluating variable factors and translating deep market analysis into actionable business strategy.
  • GTM Strategy & Leadership: Determine the marketing plan and budget for supported products and verticals. Lead the cross-functional implementation of these plans to drive engagement from existing customers and the acquisition of new B2B partners.
  • Independent Launch Management: Plan and lead the launches of net-new features and products (primarily for the U.S. market). Determine methods and procedures on new assignments and lead others informally to execute the plan.
  • User Journey Evaluation: Document and evaluate the partner and consumer user journey; exercise independent judgment to drive strategic changes to sales and marketing processes based on in-depth evaluation of data.
  • Program Accountability: Assess and report on the effectiveness of marketing programs. Regularly advise executive leadership on required tactical changes, understanding that your decisions are critical to departmental operations and costs.
  • Thought Leadership & Persuasion: Act as the primary thought leader for your supported verticals externally. Network with key contacts outside your area of expertise and adapt your style to deliver persuasive messages that relate to the wider firm business.
  • Channel Enablement & Mentorship: Serve as a best-practice resource for sales channels. Train and mentor junior staff on complex solution selling, and develop the sophisticated internal tools and external collateral required for the field.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Lead co-marketing campaigns with Energy & Builder service partners. Understand the interrelationships of different disciplines to deliver high-impact, user-facing material for partner applications.
  • AI-Driven Content & Marketing Strategy: Integrate AI tools into daily workflows to accelerate content creation, synthesize competitive research, and sharpen product messaging and strategic plans. Proactively share emerging AI workflows with the team while maintaining high standards for accuracy, brand voice, and content quality.
  • SmartThings Pro Dashboard Support: Support the B2B Solutions team with occasional backend configurations via the SmartThings Pro dashboard, including account provisioning and license management. (Note: This role handles internal adjustments only and does not include external partner support.)
