Job Description

Allstate Canada is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Complex Property Desk Adjuster / Examiner to join our Claims team. Reporting to the Area Claims Manager, this role is responsible for the investigation, evaluation, coverage analysis, negotiation, and resolution of complex property claims. The successful candidate will bring advanced technical expertise in handling large and complex losses, litigated files, environmental claims, and appraisal matters while delivering exceptional customer service and sound claims decisions. This position plays a key role in providing technical guidance, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring claims are managed effectively and in accordance with company standards.

Accountabilities

• Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve complex property claims in accordance with policy coverage, regulatory requirements, and company guidelines.
• Conduct detailed coverage analysis and make sound liability and indemnity decisions on complex and high-exposure claims.
• Manage litigated claims and collaborate with legal counsel, engineers, environmental consultants, restoration vendors, and other technical experts.
• Review, analyze, and interpret estimates, scopes, and reports, including XactAnalysis files, to ensure fair and accurate claim settlements.
• Handle specialized losses, including environmental claims, oil spills, mould and asbestos losses, condominium claims, travel trailer claims, and appraisal matters.
• Identify and pursue subrogation opportunities while effectively managing recovery efforts.
• Provide technical expertise, mentoring, and support to claims colleagues and leadership through file reviews and consultation on complex matters.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of property claims adjusting experience, including significant exposure to complex property losses.
• Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation required.
• Valid New Brunswick Adjuster's License required.
• Demonstrated experience handling complex property claims, litigated files, and appraisal processes.
• Strong understanding of property policy wording, coverage interpretation, liability assessment, and subrogation principles.
• Experience working with lawyers, engineers, environmental experts, contractors, and other technical specialists.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Bonus Qualifications

• Bilingualism in English and French.
• Experience handling environmental losses, including oil spill claims.
• Experience managing mold, asbestos, condominium, travel trailer, and park model claims.
• Experience preparing schedules of loss for complex claims.
• Proven ability to provide technical leadership and support on complex claim reviews.
• Advanced knowledge of XactAnalysis and property restoration estimating practices.

Compensation

Expected compensation for this role ranges from $ 55,707.00 - 87,164.25 annually. Actual salary offered to successful candidates will vary based on their skills and experience.
