Summary The Senior Software Engineer II: Microsoft 365 is responsible for the engineering, configuration, and operational excellence of enterprise Microsoft 365 services, with a primary focus on Exchange Online and Azure Entra ID. The position requires deep functional expertise in Microsoft 365, strong understanding of Azure Entra ID capabilities as they apply to M365, advanced PowerShell scripting skills, a demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers, and lead technical efforts within complex projects. Key Responsibilities Microsoft 365 Platform Engineering Serve as a senior engineer responsible for the configuration, stability, and ongoing operation of enterprise Microsoft 365 services. Lead complex troubleshooting efforts for platform-wide issues and provide root cause analysis. Exchange Online (Primary Focus) Act as the senior subject matter expert for Exchange Online, including mail flow, hybrid configurations, transport rules, security features, and service health. Lead implementation and support of Exchange Online enhancements, migrations, and feature rollouts. Provide advanced-level support for complex messaging issues impacting the enterprise. Azure Entra ID (M365-Focused Usage) Configure Azure Entra ID in support of Microsoft 365 applications. Serve as an SME for Entra ID features as they relate to M365, such as authentication, conditional access, role-based access, and service integrations. Operations, Governance & Documentation Support change management, incident response, and problem management processes related to Microsoft 365 services. Develop and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures for supported platforms. Ensure Microsoft 365 services are operated in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications Extensive experience supporting and engineering Microsoft 365 in an enterprise environment. Advanced hands-on experience with Exchange Online. Strong working knowledge of Azure Entra ID as it relates to Microsoft 365 usage and configuration. Experience acting as the engineer responsible for enterprise-wide platforms. Proven experience mentoring junior team members. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting hybrid Exchange or identity environments. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 security and compliance features. Experience with PowerShell and automation for Microsoft 365 administration. Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, etc).
