Position Overview SteerBridge is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to support the Modern Disability Claims program. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone early in their software engineering career to learn full-stack development practices and contribute to features under the guidance of senior engineers. This individual will support mission-critical claims analytics and operational software. Responsibilities Write clean, well-documented code to support full-stack feature development Assist with implementing and testing small, well-defined UI and API features under guidance Support senior engineers in debugging and resolving software defects Learn and apply the team’s coding standards, tools, and development processes Participate in peer code reviews to build familiarity with team practices Assist with writing and maintaining unit tests Document code and contribute to technical documentation as directed Learn the team’s domain, codebase, and Modern Disability Claims systems Required Qualifications U.S. Citizenship required Must hold or be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance; an active Secret or Top Secret clearance also satisfies this requirement Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience 0–4 years of experience in software engineering or a related field Familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, and a modern front-end framework such as React.js Basic understanding of Node.js and RESTful APIs Familiarity with Git and version-control workflows Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn Ability to work collaboratively and receive feedback and mentorship from senior team members Preferred Qualifications Coursework, internship, or project experience with full-stack development Exposure to MERN or PERN stack technologies, including MongoDB, Express.js, and PostgreSQL Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines or containerization technologies such as Docker Familiarity with healthcare or claims data Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Life Insurance 401(k) Retirement Plan with matching Paid Time Off Paid Federal Holidays SteerBridge is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
