Responsibilities:
- Architect and build the services behind every real time customer conversation: voice, SMS/MMS, live video, and embedded web chat across multiple carriers and CPaaS providers.
- Own an integration end to end: vendor API client, event contracts, data mapping, mock endpoints, test plan, staged rollout, production monitoring, vendor certifications, and compliance.
- Ship AI features built on the many channels of Telephony-owned conversation data.
- Build the infrastructure that makes Telephony communication testable with simulated 3rd parties, event capture and replay, and automated integration and unit tests.
- Own several media pipelines for call recordings, video transcoding, storage, and retention.
- Design and develop customer facing Angular UI across all Telephony feature suites.
- Assist in identifying and resolving issues. Research escalations from support teams, dealership data problems, and bug reports. Perform root cause analysis and address identified issues.
- Navigate carrier and regulatory requirements: A2P/10DLC registration, opt-out handling, call recording consent laws, and 3rd party certifications.
- Write code assisted by AI tooling using spec-driven development.
- Build and maintain OpenTelemetry instrumentation, Grafana dashboards, and per-store health metrics
- Participate in story refinement, release planning, and code review. Deploy your own validated code to production.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of C# .NET development experience.
- 3+ years of development experience with 3rd party APIs.
- 3+ years of development experience with Microsoft SQL Server and/or PostgreSQL.
- Experience with frontend frameworks, preferably Angular.
- Working knowledge of AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, etc.)
- Working knowledge of HTTP and webhook based integrations.
- Working knowledge of parallel and asynchronous programming techniques.
- Working knowledge of data exchange formats (JSON, XML, etc.) and serialization/deserialization.
- Experience with microservice and event-driven architecture.
- Exceptional communication, problem solving, and analytical skills.
- Exceptional sense of ownership and responsibility.
- Experience owning production issues in real time and diagnosing problems in live customer traffic.
- Experience leading a project from requirement gathering to delivery.
- Ability to balance business and technical objectives when making decisions.
- Ability to work on tasks independently and as part of a team.
Pluses:
- Experience with Twilio or other CPaaS.
- Experience with Kafka.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (e.g. S3, EC2, EKS, etc.)
- Experience writing APIs to be consumed by 3rd parties.
- Experience with speech-to-text, or building product features on top of LLM or ML output.
- Familiarity with telecom regulatory requirements (A2P/10DLC, TCPA, STIR/SHAKEN, call recording consent).
