Role overview:

We are seeking a Senior VCF Networking Consultant to design, deploy, and operate VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) networking and security services. The role focuses on NSX-T, AVI Load Balancer, and vDefend security capabilities, ensuring scalable, resilient, and secure software-defined networking architectures. You will act as a technical lead and trusted advisor, working directly with engineering teams and executive stakeholders to deliver enterprise-grade networking solutions.

Key responsibilities:

• Design and implement NSX-T networking solutions, including segments, Tier-0 and Tier-1 routers, edge services, and distributed firewalls.
• Configure and manage AVI (NSX Advanced Load Balancer) for application delivery and traffic management.
• Implement micro-segmentation and security policies using NSX Security and vDefend technologies.
• Integrate networking services with vSphere, vSAN, and automation components within VMware Cloud Foundation environments.
• Monitor, optimize, and maintain network performance, availability, and security posture.
• Troubleshoot complex networking and security issues across the VMware technology stack.
• Develop High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), operational runbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Deliver technical guidance, mentoring, and knowledge transfer sessions to internal teams and customers.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience designing, deploying, and operating VMware NSX-T Data Center environments, including federation and multi-site architectures.
• Deep expertise in overlay and underlay networking concepts and network virtualization troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with AVI / NSX Advanced Load Balancer, including:
• Virtual Services
• SSL/TLS
• Web Application Firewall (WAF)
• Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB)
• Integration with NSX-T, Kubernetes/Tanzu, and physical networking infrastructure.
• Strong background in NSX Security (vDefend)

Preferred Certifications

• VMware Certified Professional – Network Virtualization (VCP-NV)
• VMware Certified Advanced Professional – Network Virtualization (VCAP-NV Deploy and/or Design)
• VMware Certified Implementation Expert – Network Virtualization (VCIX-NV)
