About Prosper Global
Barely enough is not enough for anyone. Prosper Global is a humanitarian organization working alongside communities facing conflict, climate change, and economic hardship to meet urgent needs and create the conditions for lasting progress. Today's challenges demand new solutions, so we pair local knowledge with global resources to help communities build what's needed, test what's possible, and scale what's proven so that people everywhere can pursue a full life on their own terms. In 2026, we changed our name from Mercy Corps to Prosper Global, to reflect our belief that when every community can prosper, all of humanity moves forward.
The Team
Prosper Global's investment and innovation arm invests in and supports early-stage ventures building climate resilience and adaptation in emerging markets. The team is establishing the Resilient Future Fund, a blended-capital vehicle targeting $50–60 million, structured as a Delaware limited partnership with a dedicated management company and general partner. The fund's first close and launch is planned for later this year.
Standing up a fund of this scale draws on several parts of the organization at once — legal, finance, the controller's office launch dependencies, treasury, people, IT, communications and the investment team — alongside external fund counsel, tax advisers and a third-party fund administrator.
The Position
The Project Manager for the Fund launch connects those parts and drives the first close forward. Each department understands its own tasks; what no one currently owns is the sequencing between them and the pace at which they have to land. The Fund Launch Project Manager holds the critical path from now through first close and fund activation — maintaining a single view of what must happen in what order, chasing the inputs each workstream owes the others, and surfacing slippage early enough that it can be acted on.
This is a coordination and delivery role rather than a technical fund role. The post-holder does not need a background in fund formation, tax structuring or investment management; those specialists are already engaged. What the assignment requires is someone who can hold a complex, time-sensitive plan in view, work comfortably across finance, legal and programme teams, and keep senior colleagues moving without holding authority over them.
The assignment is expected to run for approximately three months, concluding once the fund is operational and able to accept subscriptions and call capital.
Essential Responsibilities
Critical Path and Sequencing
- Maintain a single, current view of the fund launch plan across all workstreams, including the dependencies between them.
- Work backwards from fund activation to establish what must happen, in what order, for the fund to accept a subscription and call capital — and keep that sequence visible to the working group.
- Identify the decisions and inputs that sit on the critical path, and make clear who owes what to whom and by when.
- Maintains a clear decision log, holds owners accountable to deadlines and deliverables.
- Coordinates external advisors and billing.
- Surface slippage and emerging risks early, with options rather than only problems.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Act as the connective point between legal, finance, the controller's office, treasury, people, IT, communications and the investment team.
- Convene and follow up on working sessions; capture decisions, owners and deadlines, and drive communications and delivery of necessary inputs by colleagues to ensure timelines are met.
- Coordinate the inputs required by external advisers, including fund counsel, tax advisers and the fund administrator; liaise with responsible department leads and either directly or support functions to ensure requests are answered completely, on time and with internal follow up as needed.
- Escalate to the Chief Investment and Innovation Officer, as sponsor where a decision is stuck or a dependency is at risk.
Documentation and Inputs
- Assemble and map existing material against the documents being drafted, so that specialists receive organized inputs rather than a search task.
- Track outstanding questions to advisers and the answers received, maintaining one authoritative record.
- Support preparation and where appropriate draft schedules, trackers and summaries required for the shared services agreement, fund documentation, and board and committee reporting.
- Handle confidential legal, financial and investor information with discretion, and declare any actual or potential conflict of interest, in line with Prosper Global Policies
Reporting and Governance
- Convene RFF working group, and produce concise weekly status reporting for the working group, and periodic updates for senior leadership and governance bodies.
- Maintain the workplan and supporting trackers as a single source of truth, retiring duplicates and resolving inconsistencies between them.
- Record decisions as they are taken, so the rationale is available to colleagues joining later.
- Prepare a handover package at the end of the assignment (workplan, decision log, open issues and adviser correspondence) and transition ongoing activities to the fund management company and the relevant departments.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
- Actively learns about safeguarding and integrates it into their work, including safeguarding risks and mitigations related to their area of work.
- Practices the values of Prosper Global including respecting the dignity and well-being of participants and fellow team members.
- Encourages openness and communication in their team; encourages team members to submit reports if they have any concerns using reporting mechanisms e.g., Integrity Hotline and other options.
Supervisory Responsibility
None. This is an individual contributor assignment.
Accountability
- Report directly to: Chief Investment and Innovation Officer
- Works directly with: the Fund Launch Working Group — Legal, Finance, the Controller's Office, Treasury, People, IT, Communications, Ethics and Compliance, Business Development & Partnerships and the Ventures investment team — and with external fund counsel, tax advisers and the fund administrator
Accountability to Participants and Stakeholders
Prosper Global team members are expected to support all efforts toward accountability, specifically to our program participants, community partners, other stakeholders, and to international standards guiding international relief and development work. We are committed to actively engaging communities as equal partners in the design, monitoring and evaluation of our field projects.
Minimum Qualification and Transferable Skills
- Five or more years of project or programme management experience, including at least one complex cross-functional initiative delivered against a fixed external deadline.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate across finance, legal and operational teams, and to move senior stakeholders without holding formal authority over them.
- Strong command of project management practice — critical path and dependency mapping, risk and issue tracking, and disciplined status reporting.
- Experience coordinating inputs to external professional advisers such as legal counsel, auditors or consultants.
- Excellent written communication: able to turn contested, complicated detail into a short summary a busy executive can act on.
- Internationally recognized qualification in project or programme management (for example PMP or PRINCE2) is an advantage.
- Preferred: exposure to investment funds, treasury operations or corporate entity establishment, and familiarity with nonprofit financial and grant management, accounting operations, controls and fund administration experience.
- Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (for example Smartsheet, MS Project Teams and Sharepoint etc.)
Success Factors
The successful candidate will create structure rather than wait for it, and will be comfortable operating while significant questions remain unresolved. They will bring a practical, can-do mindset, focusing on solutions rather than obstacles and helping teams deliver on outputs needed to launch the RFF. . Much of this assignment involves asking busy senior colleagues for the same thing more than once, so persistence is essential but must be paired with credibility, sound judgment, and ability to make others’ work easier. matters.
The role requires an ability to connect the dots across multiple workstreams, identify what is truly on the critical path, and synthesize complex inputs into clear recommendations and asks that enable timely decisions. Strong judgment and the confidence to articulate priorities plainly will matter more than exhaustive analysis. The post-holder will work effectively alongside specialists whose expertise differs from their own, asking insightful questions, drawing connections, and translating complexity into actionable next steps. Above all, success will be measured by whether the fund launches on time, with key decisions made and issues resolved, not by the elegance of the plan.
Living Conditions / Environmental Conditions
- This is a remote or office-based assignment with no field travel required. The post-holder will work across multiple time zones and should expect meetings scheduled to accommodate colleagues in North America, Europe and Africa. Standard office working conditions apply.
