Staff Accountant, Emergence | Remote - India | Full-Time Who We Are Emergence is a thematic holding company backed by the Pritzker Organization focused exclusively on acquiring and scaling category-defining software businesses. Our model requires consolidated financial reporting across multiple portfolio companies, and we prioritize accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness in every close cycle. The Mission Own accurate, timely monthly and annual financial closes across consolidation entities while maintaining U.S. GAAP compliance and audit-ready documentation. What You'll Do Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles on established calendars with zero material errors. Prepare and post 50+ monthly journal entries with complete supporting documentation and GL reconciliation within 48 hours. Reconcile 15+ balance sheet accounts monthly, investigate discrepancies, and maintain roll-forward schedules for accruals. Maintain and reconcile bank accounts, AR/AP subledgers, and fixed asset registers to the general ledger. Record fixed asset additions, disposals, transfers, and calculate monthly depreciation with zero variance tolerance. Support internal and external audits by delivering organized, cross-referenced documentation within 48 hours of request. What We're Looking For Must-haves Demonstrable mastery of U.S. GAAP, accrual accounting, and month-end close mechanics (CA, CMA, or 3+ years staff-level accounting). Proficiency in ERP systems: Sage Intacct, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Advanced Excel skills: PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, nested formulas; ability to build reconciliation trackers independently. Experience preparing journal entries and performing reconciliations in multi-entity or consolidation environments. Demonstrated attention to detail with ability to catch errors before submission and maintain complete audit trails. Nice-to-haves CA (Qualified) or CA Fresher credential. Prior experience in a PE portfolio company or multi-entity consolidation environment. Familiarity with Sage Intacct or NetSuite specifically.
