Solutions forged from experience — that is how we build, and it is how we hire. Job Summary We are seeking a well-rounded and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing Finance team. This is an ideal opportunity for an accounting professional who has built solid, hands-on experience across multiple accounting functions and is ready to contribute to a dynamic government contracting environment. Key Responsibilities Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts Prepare and post journal entries accurately and on time Process vendor invoices and ensure timely and accurate payments Reconcile AP sub-ledger to the general ledger Maintain vendor records and respond to payment inquiries Support implementation and maintenance of new AP system Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and supported Assist in the preparation of documentation for annual financial audits Maintain organized, audit-ready records for all areas of responsibility Required Qualifications 2–5 years of hands-on accounting experience across multiple functions (GL, AP, AR, bank reconciliations) Required - minimum 2 years of recent direct experience with Deltek Costpoint Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Desired Qualifications Experience in a government contracting environment Familiarity with FAR/DFARS cost accounting standards Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of desk and computer work Routine video conference and in-person meetings Hybrid schedule: 1 day per week in office in the Washington, DC Metro Area Orbis Benefits Beyond the opportunity to work alongside practitioners who have operated at the mission edge, joining Orbis means real ownership over outcomes that matter — the chance to build technology that gives the United States Government and its allies a genuine decision advantage, not just another dashboard.
