Overview At LegalZoom, we are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant – Accounting and Consolidation to join our dynamic finance team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with a strong foundation in accrual-based accounting, who is eager to grow their technical skills while supporting a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment. You will Support the monthly and quarterly close processes, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and accrual schedules, with a focus on accrual expense accounting. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and consolidation reports in compliance with US GAAP and SEC requirements. Collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners to maintain accurate records in Oracle ERP and support system-related inquiries or tasks. Provide support in ongoing FCCS (Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud Service) processes and related projects, including report validation and data integrity checks. Assist with internal and external audit requests by preparing supporting documentation and schedules. Help maintain and document accounting procedures and internal controls in accordance with company policy. Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to efforts to streamline financial workflows. Perform other ad hoc accounting tasks and support special projects as needed. Other duties as assigned. Occasional travel may be required as needed. You have Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; working toward CPA is a plus. 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably including time in public accounting or a corporate accounting department. Strong understanding of accrual-based accounting principles and experience preparing journal entries and reconciliations. Exposure to Oracle ERP or other major enterprise accounting systems; FCCS experience is a plus. Solid knowledge of US GAAP and basic internal control concepts. Proficiency in Excel and comfort working with large datasets. Experience with Oracle ERP and exposure to FCCS are strong pluses. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities. A proactive, team-oriented mindset with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
