Work Environment: On-site until completion of orienation period, then transitions to a hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. Work Schedule: Flexible schedule — employees can start anytime between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and work eight hours from their start time, with the option of a 30-minute or 1-hour lunch break. Job Mobility: Dungarvins multi-state footprint allows internal job mobility nationwide. We’re seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our corporate accounting function. This position plays a key role in ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all general ledger activities, month-end close processes, and corporate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will take ownership of journal entries, reconciliations, and various corporate accounting responsibilities while collaborating with the Accounting Manager and team to maintain strong financial integrity and support process improvements. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments for the corporate entity. Perform account reconciliations and maintain accurate general ledger records. Support month-end and year-end close processes. Assist with tax filings, 1099 preparation, and lease accounting. Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to requests. Analyze financial data, including balance sheet and P&L accounts. Contribute to special projects and process improvement initiatives. Collaborate with other accounting staff and support departmental needs. MUST HAVE: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Technical Skills: Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Accounting Fundamentals: Understanding of journal entries, reconciliations, invoicing, and general ledger processes. Accuracy & Speed: Ability to process information efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. NICE TO HAVE: Systems: Experience with ERP systems like Great Plains (Dynamics GP) or Workday. General Accounting: Experience with lease accounting and 1099 reporting. SKILLS CRITICAL FOR SUCCESS: Strong attention to detail: You'll notice discrepancies and ensure accuracy in every transaction and entry. Analytical and big-picture mindset: Ability to interpret financial data, identify issues, and look for ways to improve processes. Ownership and initiative: Proactively research answers, take ownership of your work, and don’t wait to be reminded of deadlines. Organizational excellence: Manage multiple responsibilities and tight deadlines efficiently, especially during month-end. Technical proficiency: You’re confident using Excel and ERP systems and continuously look for ways to work smarter. Integrity and confidentiality: Can handle sensitive financial information with professionalism and discretion. Adaptability: You stay composed and flexible in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
