What You’ll Do: The Vehicle Accountant is responsible for ensuring the financial accuracy and integrity of vehicle sales transactions by supporting the accounting lifecycle from sale through reconciliation. This role serves as a key liaison between Accounting, Sales, and leadership, helping maintain accurate financial records, support operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with company policies through timely reporting, reconciliation, and collaboration across departments. Job Duties: Process and post New and Used vehicle sales (Average of 250 deals per month). Record and monitor revenue and cost of sales as related to vehicle sales Calculate commissions owed and submits to payroll Maintain and reconcile accounting schedules relating to vehicle sales including but not limited to receivables, payable and inventory schedules Works with Sales Department to obtain required documents Communicate with upper management, various sales team members, and department managers Required Skills and Qualifications: HS Diploma or GED. 2+ years of experience working for a dealership accounting or admin department Understand the process and flow of a deal Knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) Understanding of balance forward and aging schedules Experience with Dealer Management Systems; Proficient in all Microsoft suite- must know how to leverage Excel for accounting Able to work independently while also being a collaborative, team player with a result driven approach in a fast-paced environment Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, programs and methodologies, and Dealer licenses Curiosity, creativity and effective research skills Self-driven, analytical thinker with effective organizational and planning skills Must maintain high level of discretion and confidentiality Compensation: $60,000-$70,000 annual salary depending on experience and skills Physical Requirements: Must be able to pass post-offer drug screening, physical examination and background check Benefits Velocity Vehicle Group Offers: Fantastic Culture 401k + match Health, Dental & Vision Insurance + HSA & FSA Employer paid Life Insurance Paid Vacation Days Sick Leave Company perks such as employee discounts, company events and training programs Excellent Training and Career Advancement Opportunities Velocity Vehicle Group is an equal opportunity employer.
