Description Kentucky Public Pensions Authority (KPPA) is currently seeking a Staff Attorney III in the Division of Advocacy. Located in Frankfort, Kentucky, KPPA is responsible for the investment of funds and administration of pension and health insurance benefits for nearly 444,000 state and local government employees, state police officers, and nonteaching staff of local school boards and regional universities. Daily system activities, including administrative support, investment management, benefits counseling, accounting and payroll functions, and legal services, are performed by a staff of professional employees working as the KPPA. KPPA covers three separate systems: Kentucky Employees Retirement Systems (KERS), County Employees Retirement System (CERS), and the State Police Retirement System (SPRS). This position offers an opportunity to litigate disability and other administrative cases before a hearing officer, to perform appellate litigation, and work closely with a team of skilled litigators and support staff in a collegial environment. KPPA attorneys have access to up-to-date legal research tools and are provided opportunities to attend relevant CLEs.
