Job Details

The Staff Engineer will think outside the box and be able to steer a team to holistically and tactically deliver cutting-edge technologies. They will have an exceptional understanding of Cloud and Service Architecture as well as modern software engineering design paradigms.   


Responsibilities:

  • As a technical evangelist will lead full stack development for the team by working with functional leads and architects 
  • Work in an agile development environment 
  • Drive design, develop and deliver software solutions per requirements and committed schedules 
  • Produce detailed technical specifications based on requirements and design 
  • Ability to code review and provide recommendations 
  • Serve as a technical expert in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of new software or complex enhancements to existing software. 
  • Follow engineering best practices, leveraging expertise to forecast the landscape and propose innovations 
  • Learn new technologies and resolve challenges involved with integrating them with our Cloud and product infrastructure 
  • Mentor junior engineers and grow a team from a technological standpoint 
  • Strong advocacy for technical standards and improvement across TRHC

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or related practical experience. 
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience including a mix of domain expertise and modern programming languages and concepts 
  • Strong architecture and system design skills 
  • Demonstrated experience delivering customer value at a rapid pace, while maintaining a high level of software quality 
  • Experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.JS, HTML/CSS and React 
  • Proficiency with common development tools (e.g., Git, Jira, etc.) and processes (e.g., pair programming, QA, deployments) 
  • Passion for software development processes and engineering culture 
  • Experience with Instrumentation, analytics and performance measurement 
  • Experience with agile methodology is a plus (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, etc.) 
  • Experience with AWS or GCP a plus 
  • 8+ years of experience including a mix of domain expertise and modern programming languages and concepts

  • Demonstrated experience delivering customer value at a rapid pace, while maintaining a high level of software quality

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proven ability to work creatively with teams to design workable solutions with a keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to articulate complex issues, plans, and concepts to diverse populations. Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills.

Physical/Mental Demands: This position is administrative in nature and will present physical demands requisite to a position requiring: hearing, seeing, sitting, standing, talking, and walking. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be able to commute to multiple site locations within assigned territory. May be necessary to work extended hours as needed.


Schedule: This is a full-time position with an expectation to work an average of 40 hours per week and be available outside of normal business hours to meet customer expectations on an ad-hoc basis. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.

This is a remote position.
