Staff Software Development Engineer

MatchBox Consulting Group is currently seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer for a permanent role at a client of ours, this position would be fully remote.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end development lifecycle for new features, from design through deployment, with a focus on code quality, maintainability, and performance.
• Apply strong expertise in distributed systems, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), microservices, performance optimization, and system reliability.
• Design, deploy, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure with a focus on automation, efficiency, and long-term growth.
• Proactively monitor service performance and reliability, ensuring SLA requirements are met through effective monitoring and incident response.
• Lead architectural discussions at both the system and component level, documenting designs and ensuring alignment with business and technical objectives.
• Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and Architecture teams to align technical solutions with broader strategic goals.
• Mentor junior engineers on development best practices, cloud technologies, and emerging tools and practices.
• Evaluate and promote AI-driven development tools and automation solutions to improve engineering productivity and delivery.
• Influence technical strategy and champion innovative practices that enhance scalability, reliability, and overall team effectiveness.
  
  

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, including full-stack development and cloud infrastructure.
• Proven leadership in designing and scaling complex software systems and mentoring engineering teams.
• Advanced skills in frameworks like React or Angular, C#/.Net Core, scalable API design, and relational/NoSQL databases.
• Strong experience in architectural design, performance tuning, and system reliability.
• Deep understanding of clean coding standards, design patterns, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), IaC tools (Terraform/CloudFormation), Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• A mindset focused on continuous learning, growth, and sharing knowledge.

• Experience with AI/ML integration in software systems.
