This position provides leadership and direction to superintendents, field crews, subcontractors, and project teams while serving as the primary field representative for customers. The Steam Turbine Construction Manager is responsible for ensuring that safety, quality, productivity, schedule, and customer satisfaction objectives are consistently achieved. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in steam turbine systems, rotating equipment, outage execution, and heavy industrial construction while demonstrating proven leadership and project management capabilities. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical field preferred. • Minimum five (5) years of experience supervising heavy industrial construction, turbine outage, maintenance, or rotating equipment projects. • Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience managing field personnel, superintendents, contractors, or construction teams. • Experience working directly with industrial manufacturing facilities, pulp and paper mills, utilities, refineries, or power generation customers. • Strong knowledge of steam turbine systems, outage planning, installation practices, and maintenance methodologies. • Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership and OSHA compliance. • Preferred Qualifications • Experience with GE, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Elliott, Toshiba, Dresser-Rand, Howden or similar turbine OEM equipment. • PMP Certification. • Experience leading major turbine outages and capital projects. • Knowledge of ASME standards, rigging practices, crane operations, welding procedures, and millwright activities. • Advanced business or project management training. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safety Leadership • Promote and enforce ProcessBarron's safety culture on all turbine construction and outage projects. • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, site-specific safety requirements, and company procedures. • Conduct safety meetings, audits, field observations, and job hazard assessments. • Hold field personnel and subcontractors accountable for safe work practices. • Drive continuous improvement in safety performance and incident prevention. • Construction and Outage Execution • Manage day-to-day field activities associated with steam turbine installations, repairs, rebuilds, retrofits, and outages. • Coordinate manpower, equipment, subcontractors, and materials to support project schedules. • Provide leadership and direction to superintendents and field supervisors. • Ensure projects are executed according to scope, schedule, quality requirements, and budget expectations. • Monitor productivity and implement corrective actions when necessary. • Participate in outage planning, execution reviews, and project closeout activities. Technical Oversight • Serve as the field technical leader for steam turbine projects. • Review drawings, specifications, work packages, and customer requirements. • Support turbine inspections, troubleshooting, alignment, balancing, and repair activities. • Assist teams in resolving technical challenges encountered during project execution. • Ensure compliance with engineering requirements, OEM recommendations, and industry best practices. Customer Relationship Management • Maintain strong relationships with customers, plant personnel, contractors, and project stakeholders. • Lead customer meetings, outage planning sessions, and daily project updates. • Ensure customer expectations are understood and communicated throughout the project team. • Resolve field issues professionally and effectively while maintaining customer confidence. • Act as the primary field representative of ProcessBarron during project execution. • Project Coordination and Financial Performance • Coordinate activities between operations, engineering, field services, fabrication, machining, and project management teams. • Monitor labor utilization, productivity, schedule performance, and project costs. • Support estimating, planning, forecasting, and project reviews. • Manage and report key performance indicators related to safety, quality, schedule, and productivity. • Identify opportunities to improve profitability, efficiency, and execution performance. • Leadership and Team Development • Provide structure, coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to field personnel. • Establish clear expectations and accountability for project teams. • Develop future leaders through training and delegation of responsibilities. • Promote teamwork, communication, and collaboration across departments. • Serve as a change agent by implementing technology and best practices that improve field execution.
