Introduction
We are looking for a Steel Plate Work Package Engineer (SAP & GC) to join our project engineering team. In this role, you will manage the planning, engineering, and execution of steel plate work packages for Sulphuric Acid and Gas Cleaning Plant equipment during project execution. You will ensure effective material planning, nesting optimization, fabrication documentation, supplier coordination, quality compliance, and timely delivery of assigned packages.
This role is based in [Location], with international travel as required to support suppliers, projects, and site activities.

You will join a multidisciplinary project engineering team working on Sulphuric Acid and Gas Cleaning Plant projects. The team works closely with engineering disciplines, equipment design teams, procurement, suppliers, production, quality, logistics, project teams, and customers to ensure safe, efficient, and timely project execution.

What you’ll do
- Take end-to-end responsibility for assigned steel plate work packages from technical specification and material planning through fabrication, delivery, erection, commissioning, and performance testing.
- Define technical requirements and develop procurement specifications, material requisitions, Bills of Materials, fabrication plans, and manufacturing documentation for platework packages.
- Manage platework packages for equipment such as Sulphuric Acid Plant converters, heat exchangers, towers, tanks, and other process equipment.
- Coordinate with engineering disciplines, suppliers, production, procurement, quality, logistics, and project teams to ensure timely execution of packages.
- Review supplier offers, provide technical clarifications, support supplier selection, and lead vendor engineering reviews and manufacturing clearances.
- Manage material planning, cutting and nesting optimization, fabrication activities, material traceability, and documentation flow.
- Provide technical support to quality and inspection teams, ensuring fabricated equipment complies with project specifications, applicable codes, and quality requirements.
- Monitor package progress, resolve technical issues and fabrication mismatches, and drive delivery in line with project schedules.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in package management, steel plate work, or equipment engineering.
- Experience in Gas Cleaning and Sulphuric Acid Plant equipment engineering, preferably involving platework packages.
- Strong knowledge of Bill of Materials, material requisitions, cutting, nesting, fabrication planning, and material traceability.
- Good knowledge of international codes and standards including EN, ISO, ASTM, ASME, DIN, and IS, with an understanding of applicable machinery and pressure equipment requirements.
- Ability to lead package engineering activities and supervise engineering and fabrication work within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to undertake international travel when required.
