Strategic Account Manager, Enterprise Channel

Location: Austin, TX — Hybrid
Company: Utility Profit

About the Role

Utility Profit is looking for a Strategic Account Manager to own our largest Enterprise accounts.

This is a commercial account management role focused on the core Enterprise clients we have today. You'll own a portfolio of top strategic accounts and build relationships across each organization in service of both retention and growth. You'll carry an expansion number, and you'll decide how to reach it. You close it.

The ideal candidate already knows Enterprise. Enterprise industry experience is required. You understand how these businesses run, from scattered-site operations and resident move-in to how corporate and regional teams make decisions, and you can use that fluency to become a trusted advisor.

You'll report directly to the COO and work with Sales, Product, Customer Success, and Marketing. The role is based in Austin and is in office three days per week.

What You'll Own

Strategic MFAccounts

  • Own a portfolio of Utility Profit's top strategic Enterprise accounts as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for each partner.
  • Build and execute account plans that drive retention, platform adoption, and expansion revenue.
  • Map each organization and develop relationships across executive, operations, regional, and business stakeholders, so you know the goals, the decision-makers, and where the partnership can go deeper.
  • Understand how each partner uses Utility Profit today including resident move-in, utility setup, and day-to-day property operations vs where adoption is still thin.

Retention & Account Health

  • Own retention for the book. Monitor account health, usage, and revenue performance, and distinguish organic growth from an account that needs active attention.
  • Identify dissatisfaction, disengagement, or churn risk early, and work with internal teams on a retention plan.
  • Run business reviews that connect Utility Profit's results to how the partner operates their portfolio.
  • Keep partners informed and follow issues through to resolution when something in the account needs cross-functional help.

Expansion Revenue

  • Own an expansion number. Identify, develop, pitch, and close expansion inside existing strategic Enterprise accounts.
  • Find the next opportunity in each account: additional portfolios or markets, deeper workflow adoption, and new use cases for Utility Profit.
  • Separate usage that is growing on its own from opportunities that require a commercial conversation, and spend your time on the latter.
  • Build a clear point of view, account by account, on where the next increment of revenue will come from.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Sales, Product, Customer Success, and Marketing so these accounts are supported well and what we learn from them shows up in how Utility Profit operates.

You'll help:

  • Advocate for strategic Enterprise accounts and bring partner needs and market feedback into the product roadmap.
  • Partner with Customer Success and Product when adoption, workflow, or integration issues are blocking retention or expansion.
  • Prepare internal teams for changes that will affect these partners.
  • Represent Utility Profit with strategic Enterprise partners and, when it matters, at relevant Enterprise and PropTech events.
  • Develop strong fluency in Utility Profit's platform, partner workflows, and the single-family rental operating model.

What We're Looking For

  • 6+ years in strategic account management, or a similar revenue-owning relationship role.
  • Enterprise rental experience. You have worked in the Enterprisev ecosystem you can talk specifically about how these businesses run.
  • A track record of personally identifying expansion opportunities and driving incremental revenue inside existing strategic accounts. Experience carrying an expansion, revenue, or net revenue retention target.
  • Executive-level communication, with the ability to build credibility and multi-thread relationships across an organization.
  • A practical, data-driven approach. You are self-directed. You set the practices for this book and decide how to reach the goal.
  • Familiarity with property management platforms such as Yardi, AppFolio, Buildium, RentVine, RentManager, or Entrata is a plus.

You'll Be Successful in This Role If You...

You treat a strategic account as a set of relationships. You know who owns operations in a market, who feels the pain at resident move-in, and who decides whether the partnership grows.

You can hold a retention conversation and a commercial conversation in the same quarter, and you surface risk before a renewal forces the issue.

You own a number, and you can explain, account by account, where the next expansion will come from.

You already speak Enterprise. Scattered-site operations, turns, and how corporate and regional teams make decisions are familiar, so you are useful in the first conversation.

You build the plan. You decide how the book gets worked. The stakeholder map and account plan come from that.

And you know the difference between activity and revenue. The meetings, reviews, and internal coordination matter because they protect the account and grow it.

Why Utility Profit

Utility Profit helps property management companies simplify utility onboarding while creating a better, more efficient process for their teams, and a no-cost revenue stream for the partner. The platform integrates with property management systems including AppFolio, Buildium, RentVine, RentManager, and Entrata, so residents can set up essential utilities as part of move-in.

Today, more than 1,000 property management companies use Utility Profit. As Strategic Account Manager for the Enterprise channel, you'll own the core single-family relationships that matter most to the business, and you'll help shape how we manage those accounts as we grow. You'll work closely with leadership, with a direct line to the decisions that affect your book.

Work arrangement: Hybrid — Austin, TX. In office three days per week.
