As a Strategic National Accounts Manager - Fire and Fabrication, you will play a key role in driving strategic sales growth by acquiring and managing national and multi-regional customers in the fire protection industry. This highly visible, sales-focused role requires a hunter mentality, strong relationship-building skills, and a deep understanding of the fire protection market. You will also collaborate cross-functionally to influence operations, service execution, and overall customer satisfaction. This position will also sit on the Large Strategic Project Team with all Ferguson KOB’s, to understand and drive Ferguson Fire and Fabrication involvement.

Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Identify, target, and secure national and large regional fire protection contractors, developers, and end-users.
  • Develop customized sales strategies to support multi-location customers with unique product and service needs.
  • Respond to RFPs, negotiate pricing, and build national-level agreements aligned with Ferguson’s capabilities.
  • Attend Ferguson Large Strategic Project calls, strategize with all KOB’s to understand up-funnel opportunities and drive strategic goals per project.
  • Communicate Large Strategic Project opportunities with corresponding district leaders to ensure Ferguson Fire involvement

Account Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic national accounts at the corporate, district and/or regional levels.
  • Build accountability through Senior Sales managers to build and maintain trusted relationships, project managers, and procurement teams across client organizations.
  • Ensure client expectations are met through proactive communication, performance tracking, and value delivery.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Work closely with Ferguson Fire Senior Sales Managers, outside sales, inside sales, operations, credit, logistics, and fabrication teams to ensure alignment and execution of customer commitments as well as Large Strategic Project communications.
  • Influence operational strategy by providing market insight and customer feedback on service levels, inventory needs, and delivery performance.

Sales Reporting & Forecasting

  • Track account performance against sales targets, and review, prepare regular reports for leadership.
  • Monitor key KPIs, profitability, and pipeline activity using PBI and sales tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of sales or account management experience, preferably in the fire protection, construction, or industrial distribution industries.
  • Proven success in managing large, complex accounts with multi-site or national reach.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong business acumen and comfort working with high-value contracts and strategic accounts.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, as needed, to support clients and Ferguson branch teams.
  • Experience working in or selling to the fire protection industry preferred (e.g., fire sprinkler contractors, developers, facility managers).
  • Familiarity with fire protection products, NFPA standards, and construction project cycles preferred
  • PBI proficiency preferred

Pay Range:

Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.

$6,374.70 - $13,933.70

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
