Welcome to Group Technology, where we pride ourselves on engineering solutions and direct Nordea’s transformation by providing a holistic technological view and structured understanding of the bank, and its surrounding environment to enable the Customer Vision and the Business Strategy.

Core Technology Change & Delivery is seeking an experienced Strategic Quality Assurance Lead to drive the development of Quality Assurance and Testing across Core Technology, raising quality maturity and ensuring that quality is systematically embedded in how we plan and deliver change.

The role provides strategic QA leadership across Core Technology, with a particular focus on Nordea Quality Standard (NQS) compliance, quality risk management and continuous improvement. The Strategic QA Lead works closely with project and programme managers, technology leaders and other stakeholders to ensure that appropriate testing requirements and quality controls are incorporated throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Nordea is a place where traditions meet tomorrow. We’re not just a bank; we’re a tech employer on a mission to evolve finance securely and responsibly. Together, we impact millions of people’s daily lives by ensuring they can access our solutions anytime, anywhere, while safeguarding their personal data and wealth. Join us in making an impact on the banking industry.

About our team

Core Technology Change & Delivery is responsible for project and programme management, execution and governance of technology change initiatives. We work across business and technology teams to ensure that strategic commitments are delivered predictably, transparently and in line with the Core Technology Operating Model and Nordea Delivery Guide.

Key accountabilities

  • Drive QA strategy and maturity
  • Define and drive the QA and testing direction and improvement roadmap for Core Technology.
  • Promote a quality-first mindset and increase QA maturity across the organisation.
  • Act as a senior advisor and thought leader on quality, testing and quality risk.

Strengthen quality governance

  • Establish transparency on NQS compliance and quality maturity across Core Technology.
  • Monitor and report quality indicators, risks, gaps and improvement activities.
  • Drive improvements where systemic quality or compliance gaps are identified.
  • Support consistent adoption of Nordea QA standards, processes and practices.

Embed quality into change

  • Work with project and programme managers to ensure that appropriate testing requirements are included in change initiatives.
  • Challenge and support initiatives where testing arrangements or quality controls are insufficient.
  • Provide strategic QA guidance to complex and high-risk initiatives.
  • Improve the visibility and management of quality risks within change governance.

Drive continuous improvement

  • Promote modern testing practices, including test automation and appropriate non-functional testing.
  • Drive improvements in QA processes, tooling and ways of working.
  • Identify recurring quality issues and turn them into structural improvement initiatives.
  • Strengthen knowledge sharing and collaboration across the Core Technology QA community and wider Nordea QA organisation.

Influence and collaborate

  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across Core Technology and relevant QA functions.
  • Represent Core Technology needs and priorities in QA forums.
  • Influence across organisational boundaries and create alignment around quality objectives and improvement priorities.
  • Communicate quality status, risks and improvement needs clearly to both technical and senior management audiences.

Who you are

You are an experienced QA and technology professional who combines strong knowledge of testing and quality engineering with the ability to drive change across a complex organisation.

You bring:

  • Extensive experience in Quality Assurance, testing or quality engineering.
  • Strong understanding of functional and non-functional testing and test automation.
  • Experience improving QA strategies, standards, governance or operating models.
  • Experience working with complex technology projects, programmes or portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of quality and technology risk management.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and challenge established ways of working.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder-management skills.
  • You take an organisational perspective rather than focusing on individual testing activities and can translate quality standards and strategic objectives into pragmatic improvements.
  • Excellent English skills, both spoken and written.
  • Can-do attitude.
