Role Description The Strategic Venture Partner & Lead Investor (Seed) is a full-time, remote role. This role leads seed-stage capital deployment into APE-X.ai, structures investment terms, and co-designs commercialization pathways for the core IP portfolio. Day-to-day responsibilities include sourcing and managing strategic co-investors, conducting financial modeling and scenario analysis for hardware and licensing ventures, and guiding portfolio prioritization across mobility, industrial safety, wearables, and telematics assets. The role partners closely with the founding team on go-to-market strategy, enterprise partnership development, and IP monetization, while overseeing investor relations, board-level reporting, and milestones for follow-on funding. The individual will also help shape long-term capital strategy, including syndication opportunities and potential spin-outs or joint ventures.

Qualifications

• Strong investment and angel investing experience, ideally with exposure to deeptech, hardware, or IP-driven ventures.

• Proficiency in finance and portfolio management, including modeling, valuation, and capital allocation across multiple initiatives.

• Demonstrated expertise in due diligence, including technical, market, regulatory, and IP risk assessment for early-stage opportunities.

• Track record of leading or co-leading seed rounds and structuring venture deals in alignment with long-term growth and exit strategies.

• Experience working with or within venture capital, family offices, corporate venture arms, or strategic investment groups.

• Ability to collaborate closely with founders and technical teams, translating complex technology into clear business and investment narratives.

• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills across investors, partners, and internal teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is beneficial.

Prior experience in mobility, industrial IoT, telematics, or smart infrastructure markets is an asset.

The Mission (The $3M Seed) We are seeking a Lead Investor or Strategic Venture Partner to anchor a CAD $3M Seed round. This capital will be deployed to:

• Finalize functional, late-stage kinetic hardware prototypes with elite engineering design partners.

• Deploy the Jamatcha biometric telematics platform for live enterprise demonstrations.

• Fund global patent prosecution and portfolio maintenance.

• Execute initial tier-one direct-licensing agreements with manufacturers and fleet operators.
