Our client is an Australian social enterprise organisation creating employment opportunities for people with disability. As it establishes a new strategy, acquisition and transformation team, we are seeking an experienced Strategy Director to help disability enterprises grow and build stronger, more sustainable businesses.
This is an opportunity to apply your consulting, transaction and transformation experience to work with a clear social purpose, supporting organisations from their initial growth strategy through acquisition and integration.
Reporting to the Head of Advisory, you will build trusted relationships with CEOs and boards, understand their strategic priorities and identify opportunities to strengthen their organisations. You will remain actively involved in the analysis and delivery, while guiding managers and analysts across engagements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing organisational strategy, business portfolios and growth opportunities.
- Identifying acquisition targets and developing investment theses and business cases.
- Leading due diligence, coordinating specialist advisers and progressing transactions through negotiation and completion.
- Supporting post-acquisition integration and transformation across operations, governance, people and systems.
- Guiding executive and board decisions through clear commercial analysis and recommendations.
- Coaching project teams and maintaining the quality of advice and delivery.
You will bring senior experience in strategy consulting, corporate development, M&A advisory or transformation, with demonstrated involvement across the acquisition lifecycle and subsequent integration or organisational change.
Strong financial and commercial judgement will be essential, alongside the ability to build credibility with senior stakeholders and guide organisations through unfamiliar decisions. You will be comfortable working through ambiguity, challenging assumptions constructively and adapting your approach to each organisation.
Experience working with or within not-for-profit, social enterprise or other purpose-led organisations is preferred but not essential.
This is a permanent, full-time opportunity with remote working across the East Coast, access to offices in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, and occasional travel. Applicants must have full, permanent Australian work rights. To apply, please submit your CV. For a confidential discussion, contact Andrew at Grant Executive Search.
