Job Title: Structural Designer

Job Description

This Structural Designer role focuses on the design of structural steel and concrete foundations for industrial facilities. You will use Revit and structural analysis tools to develop safe, efficient, and constructible designs while collaborating closely with engineers and other design disciplines. The position offers an office-based environment with the option to transition to a hybrid schedule after an initial onboarding period.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed structural designs and 3D models for industrial projects using Revit.
  • Produce and update structural drawings, plans, and details for structural steel and concrete foundations.
  • Apply structural design principles to ensure the safety, integrity, and constructability of industrial structures.
  • Use structural analysis software such as RISA to support design decisions and verify structural performance.
  • Coordinate with engineers and other design disciplines to integrate structural designs into overall project layouts.
  • Review design documents for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project standards, codes, and best practices.
  • Incorporate feedback from project teams and revise designs, models, and drawings as required.
  • Support the preparation of documentation for project submissions, permitting, and construction.
  • Maintain organized project files, models, and drawings in accordance with established company standards.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes, tools, and best practices within the structural design team.
  • Manage multiple design tasks simultaneously and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced, project-focused environment.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in Revit for structural or civil design work, with the ability to produce detailed models and drawings.
  • Minimum of 1+ years of experience working within design in structural, civil, engineering, or construction environments.
  • Hands-on experience designing concrete foundations for industrial or similar projects.
  • Hands-on experience designing structural steel elements and systems.
  • Experience in structural design for industrial projects or comparable industrial environments.
  • Ability to use structural analysis software such as RISA to support and validate design decisions.
  • Strong understanding of structural design principles and industrial facility requirements.
  • Ability to interpret and produce technical drawings and construction documents with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Attention to detail and precision in modeling, drafting, and documentation.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in structural or civil design within industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with integrating structural models into broader project workflows and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Ability to manage multiple design tasks, prioritize work, and meet project deadlines.
  • Experience with concrete foundations and structural steel design in industrial settings.
  • Previous industrial project experience is a plus.
  • Experience using RISA or similar structural analysis tools is a strong plus.
  • Comfort working in an office-based environment with openness to a hybrid work arrangement after an initial period.

Work Environment

The role starts as a fully in-office position for approximately the first one to two months to support thorough onboarding, training, and close collaboration with the structural and multidisciplinary design teams. After this initial period, the position can transition to a hybrid schedule. Team members typically work in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays and select one additional day on site each week, with flexibility to work remotely on other days as project needs allow. The work environment is professional and office-based, centered around the use of design and analysis software such as Revit and RISA. You will work at a workstation equipped for CAD and BIM production, collaborating closely with engineers and other design professionals in a project-focused setting that emphasizes quality, safety, and continuous improvement.Experience

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
