Immerse yourself in a Monday-Friday Co-Op session, that will run from January to June (it is expected students will take this time off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).
This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.
What You Will Learn:
- Supporting design and development of externals and mechanical systems parts.
- Hands-on exposure to structural analysis tools
- Working with requirements and engineering standards
- Collaboration & communication skills, including collaboration with senior engineers, presenting work, asking good technical questions, and adapting to a professional engineering environment.
What You Will Do:
- Perform structural analysis for Externals and Mechanical Systems hardware throughout preliminary design, detailed design, validation, certification, and support for manufacturing and operational service.
- Conduct Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS, Workbench, and Teamcenter, while applying classical methods for strength, stress/deflection, vibration, fatigue life, and damage tolerance.
- Contribute to technology development and continuous improvement of engineering standard work processes and methods.
- Document analysis results and present findings to management and external customers.
- English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Civil Engineering andactively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

Mechanical Systems, Externals, and Nacelles Engineering is responsible for the design, development and in service support of power transmission systems, bearing compartment and rotor support design and analysis, oil and thermal management systems, engine externals packaging and architecture, as well as nacelles for commercial and military engine models.
Technical disciplines include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, Product Definition, System Modeling, Mechanical Design analysis for bearings gears and seals, and fluid-thermal modeling of associated components and systems.

Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico on a regular basis with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.
