Structural Project Engineer Our client in the Seattle, WA location is currently hiring for a Structural Project Engineer . This position will be a hybrid opportunity in Seattle, WA, working 3 days onsite and 2 days remotely. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building structural design, the ability to independently lead projects from schematic design through construction administration, and experience mentoring junior engineers while supporting complex commercial and institutional building projects. Pay - $95,000 - $115,000/year (Depending on years of experience, project experience, licensure, software proficiency, leadership experience, and relevant industry experience) Location - Seattle, WA (Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote) Schedule - Standard Monday-Friday (40 hours per week) Responsibilities • Lead structural design efforts from schematic design (SD) through construction administration (CA) for mid-scale building projects valued at approximately $20M-$40M and above. • Own the structural scope of assigned projects, ensuring technical accuracy, quality, schedule adherence, and budget alignment. • Design structural systems utilizing steel, concrete, masonry, and mass timber. • Independently manage structural design activities throughout the full project lifecycle. • Mentor and oversee 2-3 engineers, providing technical guidance and supporting professional development. • Apply building codes, design standards, and jurisdictional requirements to structural designs. • Develop structural models, drawings, and construction documents using Revit, AutoCAD, and structural analysis software. • Coordinate closely with architects, MEP engineers, BIM teams, and other disciplines to deliver integrated project solutions. • Resolve complex structural challenges across various project phases. • Support construction administration activities including RFIs, submittal reviews, and field issue resolution. • Deliver projects on schedule and within budget while maintaining a high standard of design quality. • Contribute to a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering environment across multiple offices and project types. Qualification Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline. • 8+ years of experience in building structural design. • Experience delivering mid-scale building projects valued at approximately $20M-$40M or greater. • Ability to independently manage projects from schematic design through construction administration. • Strong expertise in steel and concrete structural design. • Strong understanding of building codes, standards, and jurisdictional requirements. • Proficiency with Revit for structural modeling and documentation. • Proficiency with AutoCAD for structural drawings and coordination. • Experience utilizing structural analysis software. • Experience coordinating with architecture, MEP, and BIM teams on multidisciplinary projects. • Leadership experience mentoring or overseeing engineers and technical staff. • Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities. Preferred Qualifications • Professional Engineer (PE) license or actively pursuing licensure. • Experience designing mass timber structures. • Experience working on a variety of building types including commercial, workplace, healthcare, aviation, and mixed-use projects. • Experience supporting construction administration activities. • Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering and architecture environments. Disqualifiers • Less than 8 years of building structural design experience. • Primarily bridge-focused structural experience with limited building design exposure. • No experience leading projects through the full design lifecycle. • No Revit experience. • No experience with steel or concrete building design. • No experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams. • No experience mentoring, leading, or overseeing engineering staff. • Limited exposure to construction documentation or construction administration.
