City St George’s, University of London is the University of business, practice and the professions and brings together the expertise and excellence of City, University of London and St George’s, University of London into one institution. The combined university is now one of the largest higher education destinations for London students, combining a breadth of disciplines across health, business, policy, law, creativity, communications, science and technology. Our students are at the heart of everything that we do, and we are committed to supporting them to pursue their career and personal ambitions.

Our research is engaged, at the frontier of practice, and has a positive impact on the world around us.

Are you passionate about student life and creating engaging content that connects with your peers? We are looking for a creative, organised and enthusiastic Student Communications Assistant to join our Student Communications and Welcome team.

The Student Communications function plays a key role in ensuring students receive timely, relevant and engaging information throughout their journey at City St George's, from pre-arrival through to graduation. Working as one of three Student Communications Assistants, you will help shape and deliver communications that promote the support, opportunities and experiences available to students across the University.

In this varied and hands-on role, you will create content that brings student life to life across a range of channels, including newsletters, news stories, blogs and social media. You will contribute to the planning and production of Campus News, the University's fortnightly all-student e-newsletter, and will be responsible for creating and scheduling content for student-facing communications channels. A key part of the role will involve working closely with fellow students to ensure their voices, experiences and perspectives are reflected in the content we produce.

You will support the planning and delivery of communications campaigns, identify and develop new story ideas, and attend University events to gather engaging content. The role also offers opportunities to produce multimedia content, including photography and video, helping to showcase the vibrant student experience. Ensuring all content aligns with the University's brand guidelines and communication standards will be an important aspect of your work.

We are looking for someone who understands what matters to students and how to communicate information in ways that are relevant, engaging and accessible. You will have excellent written communication and research skills, with an understanding of how to create effective content for a variety of channels, including news articles, blogs and social media platforms. Experience creating social media content, including capturing photographs and editing video, would be highly advantageous.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. You will enjoy engaging with students and staff from across the University community and be confident appearing on camera when required. Most importantly, you will bring creativity, enthusiasm and a genuine interest in helping students make the most of their university experience.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on communications experience while contributing to a positive and connected student experience at City St George's.
