The CHDR Qualitative Research Support Student will work approximately 4–12 hours per week, with some weeks requiring more hours than others. During the academic year, students will generally work 2–6 hours per week in person at the Westfield office during business hours, with flexibility around class schedules. Ideally, the in-office day would be Tuesday or Thursday. Our office is located off campus near West Towne Mall, just off the bus rapid transit line. The remaining work hours can generally be completed remotely. The study will include approximately 20 participant interviews and several listening/feedback sessions over the course of the two-year project. Some of these will be virtual, and some will require travel, up to approximately 1.5 hours from UW-Madison in each direction. The student will assist with these study activities and should expect to participate in approximately 5–7 in-person interviews and/or listening sessions over the course of the project. These activities may take place in Milwaukee or in rural communities. The student will not need their own car, as UW Fleet vehicles are available, but a valid driver’s license is required. If a student does use their own car, mileage for approved study-related travel will be reimbursed. Other study responsibilities, including preparation, scheduling, data organization, and other research activities, can generally be completed remotely or at the Westfield office. |
