Are you ready to dive into the dynamic world of banking and finance? SEB’s Prime Collateral Services (PCS) team offers a talented student an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience and grow their potential on the side of their studies. If you have the ambition, we will support you every step of the way!

About the role

Prime Collateral Services (PCS) is part of Investor Services within Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB). We provide collateral management services to institutional and corporate clients, supporting their trading activities across derivatives, repo and securities lending.

We are now looking for a student with an interest in financial markets who wants to gain practical experience alongside their studies and become part of our team.

What you will be doing

As a Student Collateral Manager, you will work alongside experienced colleagues and gradually learn how collateral and client relationship management works in practice.

You will be introduced to the daily processes behind derivatives and securities financing transactions and support the team in delivering our services to clients.

Your responsibilities will gradually develop as you gain experience and may include:

  • Supporting the daily collateral management process
  • Monitoring exposures, collateral positions and ongoing transactions
  • Assisting with margin calls, collateral movements and reconciliations
  • Following up on settlements, exceptions and outstanding items
  • Supporting communication with clients, counterparties and other internal and external stakeholders
  • Working with financial data, reports and operational controls
  • Contributing to improvements in our processes and ways of working
  • Collaborating with colleagues across PCS and other parts of SEB

The role gives you the opportunity to develop a practical understanding of derivatives, repo, securities lending and post-trade processes, while gaining experience from a client-oriented environment within CIB.

You will receive training and support from the team, with the ambition that you gradually take on more responsibility as your knowledge and experience develop.

Who we are looking for

We believe you are a curious and ambitious student who wants to learn more about financial markets and how a large financial institution operates behind the scenes.

You enjoy taking responsibility, learning new things and working together with others. Since collateral management involves both financial products and time-critical processes, you are also comfortable working in a structured and detail-oriented way.

We believe that you:

  • Are currently studying economics, finance, business, engineering or another relevant field with at least 2 years remaining until graduation.
  • Have a genuine interest in financial markets
  • Are analytical, structured and attentive to detail
  • Are curious and eager to learn
  • Take initiative and are comfortable asking questions
  • Enjoy problem-solving and taking ownership of your tasks
  • Are a collaborative team player who contributes to a positive working environment
  • Communicate confidently in both Swedish and English

Previous experience from banking or financial markets is an advantage, but not a requirement. We are primarily looking for someone with the right attitude, curiosity and willingness to learn.

Practical setup

The position is designed to work alongside your university studies. The typical setup is around 8 hours per week during semesters, with opportunities to work more during summer and Christmas holidays.
