ABOUT CLIENT
—
Algomarketing is partnering with our client’s Marketing team to set up a dedicated MENA creative studio. The studio produces locally relevant, performance-led creative for Gemini, Google AI Mode and other client products, with Saudi Arabia (KSA) and Egypt as primary markets and Morocco and Iraq as secondary markets. It covers two workstreams: original lower-funnel content built from scratch, and adaptation of global and regional campaigns for local markets. Brand strategy and big-idea concepts stay with our client’s lead agency; the studio owns everything from local origination through to resizing, formatting and handoff to the media agency.
ABOUT THE ROLE
—
We are looking for a native Arabic copywriter for Saudi Arabia and Egypt to own performance copy and linguistic and cultural quality for our client’s new MENA creative studio. You will write in Saudi (Gulf) Arabic and Egyptian Arabic, creating copy that sounds local and resonates in-market rather than reading as a translation.
You will work on both original lower-funnel campaigns and adaptations of global and regional work for Gemini and Google AI Mode, partnering with the Creative Director, designers and motion designers from the first brief. Local market knowledge is part of making the work, not a final QA step.
RESPONSIBILITIES
—
Original copy and concepting
- Write conversion-focused copy for Saudi Arabia and Egypt: headlines, CTAs, video scripts, voiceover and supers, social captions and display copy.
- Contribute local concepts and ideas to briefs alongside the Creative Director and design team.
- Write copy variants for testing across formats and placements.
Transcreation and adaptation
- Adapt global and regional campaign copy so it is idiomatic and culturally right for the market, not a literal translation.
- Review and rewrite machine-translated or AI-generated drafts to native standard.
- Fit copy to tight character limits across 9:16, 4:5, 1:1, 16:9 and banner formats while keeping meaning and tone.
Linguistic and cultural quality
- Act as the language and culture owner for Saudi Arabia and Egypt, flagging anything that is stereotyped, generic or off-tone.
- Proofread final assets (statics, motion supers, banners, carousels) before trafficking, including right-to-left layout checks.
- Build and maintain market glossaries, tone-of-voice notes and product terminology for Gemini and Google AI Mode.
AI-assisted workflows
- Use Gemini and approved AI tools to speed up ideation, variant writing and first-draft adaptation, with you owning final quality.
- Share what works with the studio so prompts and copy workflows improve over time.
REQUIREMENTS
—
- 5+ years of copywriting experience in an agency or in-house creative team, with performance or digital work in your portfolio.
- Native-level Arabic with fluent command of Saudi (Gulf) Arabic and Egyptian Arabic, plus Modern Standard Arabic.
- Professional working English, able to take English briefs and present rationale to English-speaking stakeholders.
- Lived or working experience in both KSA and Egypt, with a current understanding of each market's culture and online behaviour.
- Portfolio showing both original copy and transcreation across video, social and display.
- Experience writing for tech, consumer apps or digital products is a strong plus.
- Comfortable using generative AI tools (Gemini or similar) as part of a writing workflow.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
—
- Sharp attention to detail and a strong ear for tone and register.
- Confident giving and receiving feedback, and explaining cultural choices to non-native stakeholders.
- Organised and reliable under fast turnaround and high volume.
- Curious about technology and AI, and how people in the market use it day to day.
