About The Role
Balfour Beatty is looking for an experienced Sub Agent to join our Regional Civils team in Colchester, supporting the successful delivery of high-quality civil engineering projects across the region.
As a Sub Agent, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management and delivery of works on site, working closely with the Site Agent, Project Manager, engineers, subcontractors and wider project team to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

What you'll be doing
As a Sub Agent You Will
- Support the Site Agent and Project Manager in the planning and delivery of construction activities.
- Take responsibility for managing sections of work from planning through to completion.
- Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with programme, budget, quality and health and safety requirements.
- Review construction drawings, specifications and programmes to ensure works are delivered correctly.
- Monitor progress against programme and identify any potential delays or issues.
- Work closely with engineers to ensure setting out, technical requirements and construction methodologies are understood and followed.
Who we're looking for
You Will Have The Following
- Previous experience working as a Sub Agent, Site Agent or Senior Site Engineer within the civil engineering sector.
- BSc/HNC in Civil Engineering
- Experience delivering civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- A strong understanding of construction methodologies, programmes and site management.
- Experience managing site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Good knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality requirements.
- Relevant CSCS and SMSTS qualifications.
