Job Title: Substation Drafting Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Substation Drafting Specialist to join our team. This role involves creating and updating drawings for electrical substation projects while ensuring accuracy and quality. The successful candidate will work on multiple projects simultaneously and contribute to resolving non-standard analytical problems.

Responsibilities

• Perform drafting for electrical substation projects.
• Create new drawings or update existing drawings as required.
• Maintain accuracy and quality in all work.
• Work on multiple projects at the same time.
• Seek resolutions to non-standard analytical problems.
• Communicate effectively with Project Managers and Engineers.
• Attend project-specific meetings to determine schedules and requirements.
• Attend site visits as required.
• Participate in seminars and training classes.
• Maintain a safe working environment.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, and CAD.
• Extensive knowledge of substation modeling.
• Experience with power, substations, or related sites.
• Substation design experience.
• Project experience in utility, power delivery, transmission & distribution, industrial power, or EPC projects.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Technology.
• Experience with Revit or MicroStation.
• Proficiency in substation design, transformer, and power equipment.

Work Environment

The role initially requires full-time office attendance for the first few months, with the potential to transition to a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days remote. The initial training will take place in the Atlanta office. The work environment includes opportunities to work with new modeling programs for substation layouts and to learn directly from the lead VP of engineering.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buford, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
