The Media & Advertising team develops brand strategies and integrated marketing campaigns that build awareness, strengthen customer affinity, and drive profitable growth. As a Media & Advertising MBA intern reporting to the Director, you would support the team by bringing strategic thinking, analytical rigor, and a customer-focused perspective to help evaluate marketing opportunities, optimize campaign effectiveness, and identify new ways to grow the American Family Insurance brand and business. You would work on high-impact projects that inform marketing strategy, creative campaigns, media investment decisions, and consumer engagement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of our business, corporate culture, and structure to support your work.
- Partner with agency teams and internal stakeholders to support campaign planning, execution, and measurement.
- Contribute creative ideas and strategic approaches in response to changing situations.
- Conduct market, consumer, and competitive research to identify growth opportunities and emerging trends.
- Assist with test-and-learn initiatives, including new media channels, partnerships, or marketing technologies.
- Analyze campaign performance data and develop recommendations to improve marketing effectiveness and ROI.
- Identify opportunities to improve customer acquisition, retention, cross-sell, and brand engagement.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing an MBA with a strong interest in building a post-MBA career in brand management, marketing, media, or advertising
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and passion for understanding consumer behavior, brands, and the role marketing plays in driving business growth.
- Previous experience in marketing, brand management, advertising, media, or a related business function is preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data and insights into business recommendations.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, including the ability to develop clear, concise presentations for senior leaders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
