About the role
DT Infrastructure is seeking an experienced Superintendent to join our growing Rail team in Queensland, initially supporting the Track delivery of the QTMP Project at Ormeau. This is an exciting opportunity for a proven construction leader to play a key role in the delivery of major rail infrastructure projects while helping shape the future growth of our Queensland Rail business.
As Superintendent, you will take ownership of day-to-day site operations, leading project teams and subcontractors to safely deliver works on schedule, within budget and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with the Project Manager and senior leadership team, you will provide leadership across all aspects of project delivery, including construction planning, workforce management, resource allocation, stakeholder engagement, safety, quality and commercial performance.
You will also be actively involved in client engagement, relationship management and work-winning activities, supporting tenders, providing constructability and delivery input during bid phases, and representing DT Infrastructure with key clients and industry stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to influence strategic growth, build high-performing teams and contribute to securing future rail infrastructure opportunities across the state.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a landmark Queensland rail project while joining a business with a strong pipeline of work, a collaborative culture and a genuine commitment to developing its people, growing its capability and delivering industry-leading outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of multi-disciplined rail and track projects, including site scoping, resource allocation, scheduling, risk management and project execution to ensure works are completed safely, on time and within budget.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors, actively promoting DTI’s capabilities, identifying new business opportunities and supporting the preparation of tenders and future work proposals.
- Manage project performance through effective cost control, forecasting and reporting, including monitoring project budgets, resolving supplier and subcontractor queries, and preparing accurate progress and financial reports.
- Provide leadership and oversight of project teams, including workforce planning, supervision, timesheet approvals, competency compliance, performance management and fostering a culture of accountability, safety and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental and rail industry requirements by implementing project plans, conducting risk assessments, managing non-conformances, maintaining documentation and adhering to relevant legislation, standards and DTI procedures.
- Support continuous improvement and operational excellence by investigating technical issues, improving workflows, integrating multi-disciplinary activities and driving the successful delivery of project and organisational objectives.
Experience and capabilities
- Experience of track, signalling, and overhead wiring constriction.
- Supervisor experience of track activities.
- Appropriate Track Safe Working Certification (or ability to obtain)
- Valid Class C Driver’s License (preferred)
- First Aid Training (preferred)
- This position must be medically fit to perform rail maintenance duties and is classified as a Level One (1) High Level Safety Critical Worker under the National Railway Health Assessment Guidelines.
