We combine our transactional expertise with deep sector knowledge across our chosen sectors: Asset Management & Investment Funds, Financial Institutions, TMT, Healthcare & Life Sciences, and Energy, Natural Resources & Infrastructure.

Our UK Corporate team has a growing and award winning private equity practice, advising financial sponsors, management teams and portfolio companies throughout the investment lifecycle. Our work includes:

  • Private equity investments, buyouts and exits;
  • Platform and bolt-on acquisitions;
  • Management incentive and equity participation arrangements;
  • Portfolio company acquisitions, disposals and strategic projects;
  • Domestic and cross-border M&A transactions;
  • Joint ventures, reorganisations and corporate restructuring matters.

We have an ambitious growth strategy focused on delivering premium work for premium clients in our chosen sectors in a way which supports our firm's purpose of building a next generation law firm. We differentiate ourselves through our combination of deep market expertise, sector insight, collaborative approach and innovative application of data science and technology, delivering exceptional outcomes for clients.

We are committed to fostering a supportive and collaborative culture in which our people can develop, thrive and build long-term careers while delivering outstanding client service.

The Role

We are keen to hear from experienced private equity lawyers to join our growing team in either Bristol or London.

This is an opportunity to become part of an established and expanding private equity practice acting for a broad range of mid-market and lower mid-market financial sponsors, management teams and portfolio companies. The role offers exposure to complex, high-value and often international transactions, working closely with clients on acquisitions, disposals, platform investments, add-on transactions, management equity arrangements and broader strategic corporate matters.

You will work closely with colleagues across the UK and our international offices, collaborating within a collegiate and well-integrated private equity team. You will have significant client contact and the opportunity to play a key role in developing long-term relationships with sponsors, management teams and intermediaries across the market.

Candidate Specification

  • You are a qualified lawyer with 3-5 years' PQE and strong experience advising on private equity transactions.
  • You have experience acting for financial sponsors, management teams and/or portfolio companies on acquisitions, disposals and investment transactions.
  • You have strong technical, commercial and drafting skills, with the ability to deliver pragmatic advice in a fast-paced environment.
  • You are an effective communicator with strong relationship-building skills and a collaborative approach.
  • You can manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines.
