Supervises, Budget Analysis
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform and lead employees performing budget analysis of company financial information and company budgets and forecasts.
- Analyze statistical information, variances and other financial data to determine probable relationships or effects of changing variables, scenarios and/or assumptions and oversee employees performing similar duties.
- Utilize and support the maintenance of accounting and financial planning systems; identify and propose system or process changes and/or development of new accounting processes to expedite financial analysis and ensure the integrity of financial statements and/or reports.
- Provide management with information essential to decision making activities. Interact with management employees and others relative to financial plans and analysis, forecasts, reporting instructions and statistical data.
- Compile, prepare, verify, and/or approve information and reports and/or supervise and assist employees performing activities including but not limited to:
- Analysis of company and third-party Development of financial models
- Financial plans, forecasts, and reports
- Scenario planning to evaluate various alternatives
- Financial statements
- Maintain proper documentation of activities to ensure business continuity and knowledge transfer among personnel.
- Update and maintain job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
- Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and additional work experience. (Typically, one and a half to two years of relevant experience is equivalent to one year of formal education.)
Experience
- In addition to education, this role typically calls for seven to ten years of relevant experience. (Minimum of five years’ relevant experience is required). Previous leadership experience is not required.
- Experience with and thorough knowledge of financial planning and analysis techniques and processes, understanding the Company’s operations and accounting procedures.
- Application of math, advanced algebra, and statistics.
- Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software.
- Experience and/or training related to:
- Company accounting methods, practices, and procedures
- Financial analysis
- Plan and forecast calculations
- Company organizational structure and departmental functions
- Company operations, business drivers and markets
- Communication skills
- Supervisory and management skills
- Experience analyzing and evaluating budgets and forecasts and defining short and long- range financial effects on company’s strategic plan.
- Experience researching and preparing financial plans, forecasts, economic studies, financial data, and correspondence.
- Experience prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
- Experience reviewing and interpreting financial plans and forecasts, regulations, company policies and procedures, manuals, reports, and correspondence.
- Experience interacting, advising, and communicating effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise; knowledge of personnel policies and procedures.
- Experience developing information and conducting group and individual presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
Licenses and Certifications
Required applicable driver's license.
Preferred Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) or other relevant financial certification.
Additional Requirements
- Mobility to travel in and around office facilities.
- Communicate and/or exchange information or instructions; conduct oral presentations.
- Visual abilities sufficient to perform job duties.
