The University of Miami/UHealth Central Business Office Department has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Supervisor, Medical Posting.


CORE JOB SUMMARY:


The Supervisor, Medical Posting coordinates the insurance and financial activities associated with the provision of services to scheduled patients. Moreover, an employee in this position oversees the daily operations of the assigned division and acts as a source of knowledge for all co-workers.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS:


· Ensures that all payments, adjustments, and denials are posted accurately and in a timely fashion.

· Reviews insurance coverage information and obtains financial clearance from insurance companies.

· Informs the patient or his/her representative of financial requirements according to established guidelines for the insurance plans and notifies attending providers of policy guidelines for the patient's diagnosis.

· Handles and resolves financial issues or questions face-to-face, by telephone, email or fax.

· Helps patients with financial difficulties and assists them in locating financial assistance.

· Oversees, trains, and guides staff to promptly provide patients with financial clearance.

· Collaborates with third-party carriers, governmental agencies, and other University of Miami departments.

· Provides policy and procedural guidelines to providers to ensure services are under the requirements of medical necessity.

· Maintains records of customer interactions and transactions, including details of inquiries, complaints, comments, and actions taken.

· Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly and persuasively.
