We are looking for a highly organised and collaborative Supplier and Process Improvement Manager to join the Cost Centre of Excellence on a 6 month fixed term basis. This role has been created to enhance and standardise supplier management practices across the Group. Working alongside senior Supplier Managers and key business stakeholders, you will assess current ways of working, identify opportunities for improvement and help establish a more consistent, efficient and scalable approach to supplier management. The role combines process improvement, framework development and hands-on delivery support, helping the business strengthen supplier governance, improve visibility and reporting, and drive greater value from supplier relationships.
Key objectives (6-Month FTC)
During the contract period, the successful candidate will:
· Assess the maturity and effectiveness of current supplier management practices and identify opportunities for improvement, including documentation of key risks and controls.
· Establish a proportionate supplier management framework, including supporting standards, governance and reporting.
· Deliver priority improvements that strengthen consistency, efficiency and control across the supplier management lifecycle.
· Provide delivery support across strategic supplier portfolios while helping build longer-term supplier management capability within the Group.
You’ll spend your time
· Mapping and assessing current supplier management processes, controls and governance arrangements.
· Facilitating workshops and engaging stakeholders to understand challenges, requirements and improvement opportunities.
· Developing practical frameworks, templates, guidance and management information to support supplier oversight.
· Coordinating activities required to implement agreed process improvements and new ways of working.
· Supporting supplier reviews, governance forums and action tracking across key supplier portfolios.
· Producing clear documentation, reporting and presentations for stakeholders and leadership teams.
· Working collaboratively with Finance, Procurement, Risk, Legal, Operations and Technology teams to embed consistent practices.
· Monitoring progress against agreed initiatives and supporting successful delivery of outcomes.
· Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce complexity and strengthen controls.
· Contributing to wider continuous improvement initiatives across the Cost Centre of Excellence.
A bit about you
You’ll be highly organised, analytical, with strong attention to detail and have experience in supplier management and process improvement. You’ll be comfortable reviewing existing ways of working, identifying practical improvements and turning your findings into clear, sustainable processes. You’ll build effective relationships across different business functions, using evidence and sound judgement to influence stakeholders and gain support for change. Comfortable working at pace and managing competing priorities, you’ll take ownership of delivery while keeping stakeholders informed and focused on the required outcomes.
We’d particularly like you to have:
· Experience in supplier management or vendor management.
· A track record of reviewing, designing and implementing improved processes, frameworks or controls.
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with a finite attention to detail.
· Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to influence and secure engagement across teams.
· A collaborative approach and strong people skills.
· Ability to take ownership, work independently and manage multiple priorities within a defined delivery timescale.
· Confidence using Microsoft Office tools to analyse information and create clear, professional documentation and presentations.
It would also be helpful if you have:
· Experience of supplier segmentation, performance management, governance forums or supplier risk oversight.
· Experience of delivering change within financial services or another regulated environment.
· Familiarity with continuous-improvement techniques or methodologies.
