Overview

Komatsu Mining Technologies is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Manager to proactively deploy and manage the Company’s Quality Management System with regards to Supplier Quality activities.

Working closely with the Operations, Supply Chain and Engineering functions you will ensure that all outsourced product quality requirements are achieved through our network of approved regional and international suppliers.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated experience of supplier quality management including onboarding, supplier development, 1st article management, auditing, regulatory requirements, root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions, issue resolution and priority management.

Key role function

  • Accountability for all Supplier Quality activities in Australia
  • Coordinate the resources and processes required to develop and maintain the quality of supplier produced parts in an integrated approach
  • Coordinate Supplier Selection and Qualification process deployment
  • Drive Supplier Quality standardization execution within the region
  • Proactively deploy and monitor the Company’s Quality Management System with regards to Supplier Quality activities including but not limited to Quality Planning, Supplier auditing, Supplier Corrective and Preventative action management, Root cause investigation and analysis
  • Actively lead and participate in the PDCA process cycle for all Supplier Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities
  • Ensure that Suppliers meet or exceed all regulatory and statutory requirements for KMT products
  • Act as an ambassador for Kway principles, systems, processes, and tools
  • Oversee the Supplier Quality “First Article” process
  • Monitor Supplier PPM to manage all variations and flaw rates for increased product performance and ultimately customers satisfaction for purchased or subcontracted parts
  • Drive regional process to ensure supplier recovery is recognized in an event where supply chain is responsible for Scrap, Rework, or Warranty.
  • Develop and coordinate objectives through the Komatsu Success Factors to ensure regional and global alignment
  • Provide timely weekly, monthly and quarterly Supplier Quality reporting to Management

What you bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in applied science, engineering or a related field
  • At least 5 years’ quality management or assurance experience in manufacturing, ideally equipment manufacturing in a medium to heavy industry
  • Strong knowledge of supplier quality systems, audits, certification and accreditation requirements
  • Experience improving quality across operations and supplier networks
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and root-cause investigation skills
  • Clear communication and influencing skills across senior, technical and operational stakeholders
  • Proven people leadership and the confidence to lead change and own outcomes
