Our large portfolio of both manufactured and buy out products require a diverse supply chain and vendor network. We are looking for a Supply Chain Specialist to help manage vendor relationships, negotiate low costs and favorable terms, and ensure we have the right products available at the right time. The Supply Chain Specialist will be responsible for negotiations, vendor management, purchase planning, and buying activities. The supply chain team is accountable for assuring the continuous supply and timely procurement of orders to maintain maximum production levels at optimum costs consistent with quality and quantity specifications. Close coordination with Production Planning is required to ensure adequate quantities for customer demand but avoiding unnecessary inventory buildup. Key Responsibilities: Plan purchase orders based on current inventory levels and sales forecast to ensure target weeks in stock on hand. Work cross functionally with the sales and planning teams to ensure all demand forecast are up to date and accurate in JDE. Maintains purchase order delivery dates up to date and analyze MRP generated messages. Interface directly with suppliers and qualify new suppliers, negotiate purchase prices, payment terms and place purchase orders for products and services as required. Work with internal customers to ensure specifications and drawings are appropriate for products required. Ensure that appropriate documentation is provided to logistics/transportation & warehouse organization so that proper receipt is recorded. Find opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency, and manage risk through targeted negotiations. Employ sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activities. Work with Production Development and Engineering Team on new product development to determine best sourcing options and be the focal contact person on commercial matters. Continuously evaluate purchasing process to identify opportunities for improvement and streamlining. Preferred Experience: Experience in ERP system, JDE preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field Required Experience: 5 years’ experience in procurement and sourcing/logistics (chemicals, containers, packaging goods, and/or finished product buyouts) Skills/Competencies: Strong PC skills (MS Office Suite, especially Excel, Teams and MS Project) Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. Excellent time management and communication skills. Ability to handle last minute priority changes and tight deadlines.
