We are looking for a talented Supply Continuity Analyst to join our team specializing in purchasing for our Cummins’ business in Columbus, IN. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Drive supplier process improvements by partnering with the sourcing team to enhance efficiency, strengthen supplier performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Analyze procurement processes and initiatives to identify opportunities for cost savings, operational efficiencies, and improved quality of goods and services. Influence strategic decision-making by preparing data-driven recommendations and presenting improvement opportunities to senior Procurement leadership. Ensure compliance and consistency by applying sourcing policies, procedures, and procurement best practices across all supplier-related activities. Strengthen collaboration between Procurement, manufacturing facilities, and suppliers by serving as a key communication link that supports operational alignment and issue resolution. Improve supplier responsiveness and business continuity by managing payment inquiries, monitoring order fulfillment, and helping resolve supplier-related challenges. Support supplier performance management by collecting, validating, and analyzing supplier scorecard data to drive accountability and continuous improvement. Minimize production disruptions by providing delivery and expediting support during supplier issues and coordinating the successful execution of engineering release changes. To be successful in this role you will need the following: Build strong collaborative relationships and communicate effectively across Procurement, manufacturing, and supplier partners, ensuring alignment, transparency, and successful delivery of shared objectives. Leverage data, problem-solving, and manufacturing knowledge to identify trends, resolve supplier and operational challenges, drive continuous improvement, and support data-driven business decisions. Demonstrate procurement expertise and integrity by consistently applying procurement policies, systems, tools, and ethical standards while ensuring compliance and effective contract management. Take an action-oriented and strategic approach to supplier management by excelling in negotiations, managing supplier performance and capacity, proactively mitigating supply chain risks, and embracing diverse perspectives to achieve the best business outcomes. College Job type : Entry Level Full-time. Subfunction: N/A Degree level : MS Educational Program : Open to ME, IE, Supply Chain, Business or similar. Start date : Sep 2026 Job Skill Requirements : Education/Experience: College, university or equivalent degree in a related business field such as supply chain management. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Minimal prior experience is required. Additional Details: This role is a part of the Global Supply Continuity team, supporting Global sites across Accelera eMobility and the selected candidate would be reporting to the Supply Continuity Manager. This role cannot be fully remote. The candidate is required to be on-site at the Columbus Engine Plant (CEP) for 60% of their time, with flexible work arrangements. Exposure to Purchasing/Supply Chain roles from previous experience is a plus. Additional core responsibilities: Manage delivery and issue resolution with suppliers Establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers Specifically focused on improving supplier performance ahead of demand Lead supply base risk management Prepare recommendations and execute improvements and alternative courses to prevent disruption to production due to material shortages Negotiate and ensure suppliers abide to mutually agreed upon contracts Cross-functionally align and collaborate with various stakeholders across the supply chain, including material planning, logistics, engineering, supplier quality, sourcing etc. Avoids supplier engagement that may compromise sourcing, selection, and management by violating compliance. U.S. Early Careers Eligibility Requirements: Exempt Entry Level: Designed for external candidates within 2 years of completing their highest level of degree (Bachelor, Master, PhD, MBA, or JD) from an accredited U.S. college/university, and currently reside within the continental U.S. International Student Eligibility (U.S. based roles): F-1 visa students must have approved Curricular Practical Training (CPT) or Occupational Practical Training (OPT) before their Early Career assignment begin. CPT/OPT must relate to their degree and be authorized by their university. Students are responsible for securing this approval through their school’s international office.
