Support Specialist, Chennai
The Support Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operational support, administration, and continuous improvement of Identity and Access Management (IAM) services. This role ensures timely delivery of access requests, incident resolution, audit support, and operational excellence while maintaining compliance with security and governance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Support user provisioning, de-provisioning, access requests, and account lifecycle management.
- Manage IAM-related incidents, service requests, and escalations within established SLAs.
- Administer and support IAM platforms, tools, and technologies.
- Ensure compliance with IAM governance standards, controls, and processes.
- Support audit and compliance activities, including SOX, ITGC, SOC2, and ISO requirements.
- Execute user access reviews, certification campaigns, and audit requests.
- Troubleshoot authentication, authorization, MFA, SSO, and identity-related issues.
- Participate in the integration, deployment, and support of IAM solutions.
- Collaborate with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Application, and Business teams to resolve access challenges and strengthen security posture.
- Track status, provide stakeholder communications, and ensure timely closure of requests.
- Identify recurring issues and drive continuous improvement, automation, and workflow optimization.
- Develop and maintain operational documentation, procedures, and knowledge articles.
- Participate in on-call rotations, major incident response activities, and Level 2 support escalations.
- Mentor junior team members and provide technical coaching.
- Track operational metrics, reporting, KPIs, and KRIs.
- Maintain expertise in IAM technologies, processes, and subject matter domains.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field preferred.
- 2+ years of IT or cybersecurity experience.
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience with IAM tools, administration, and operational processes.
- Understanding of IAM principles, frameworks, and technologies.
- Experience with user provisioning, access management, authentication, and identity lifecycle processes.
- Knowledge of IAM governance, compliance, and audit requirements.
- Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools and processes.
- Experience creating documentation, procedures, and operational runbooks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve IAM-related issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
- Other Requirements: Willingness to participate in on-call support rotations.
- Ability to work assigned shifts as needed.
- Ability to coach and share knowledge with junior team members.
